Mares Hurdle 2019

Probably factored into the price I'd say, and the risk you choose to take. Also don't recall saying e/way 'banker', just that 2/1 for a place is more sort of where I want to be than 7/4 for a win only on a horse we haven't seen all season.

Haha, he was clearly a bit of a machine early doors, SI isn't. As much as i thought "jeez she's some engine" when doing everything wrong in the Triumph and still going well before US.

She's obviously talented, but if a proper mare was running closer to her, no disrespect to GTT, she'd be a different horse.

Yeah, I'd still choose to take the Master Dino form over near enough the same trip as the Mares is, than the GTT form anyway. She beat her without coming off the bridle, Laurina would do the same, the difference is she'd be a 'machine' for doing it.

I've long forgotten the SI, Laurina debate, it's over, they aren't facing, it's pointless. Take your point tho.

SI is a decent e/w price, people will take BDD on with her and i can see why. But she has a few glaring weaknesses.

BDD no Quevega entry, no prep it seems!

Sorry, probably shouldn't have referenced Laurina, that was using the same owners horse, more so BDD would have beat GTT on the bridle and been called all sorts for doing so!

Without wanting to contradict myself, I definitely can not say BDD could not retain her crown, but price dictates and she is no value off the back of no prep.

How good is the form with master dino anyway ?
she was third in that race, beaten fair and square and getting 13lb from the front two.

That's up for your own interpretation. Master Dino is better than any horse, with the exception of Apples Jade, who 'wasn't right' last season, that Benie Des Dieux beat over hurdles.

It's all a matter of opinion, I prefer that form over beating Midnight Tour by 1/2 a length & Augusta Kate by 3l.

I'd be saying exactly the same if it was the other way around too. And it just adds to the weight of the price difference IMO.

Also SI isn't 2/1 a place ... in reality its evens ...

So it's a question of BDD win only 7/4 or SI evens to place PLUS SI win only at 5/1

Probably still SI at those prices but it's not standout value (not that you've said it is)

Inverted comma's because I couldn't remember what was wrong with her, so used the term 'wasn't right' instead, but since realise she was 'in season' but couldn't be bothered to edit as didn't think it would have been picked up by anyone, should have known the mod is eagle eyed :highly_amused:

I noticed yesterday that the Mares Hurdle had dropped right to the bottom of the Festival NRNB On B365 which I thought was strange

It's the race that's giving them headaches. They don't want people cashing out doubles involving AJ and Laurina I guess.

I've not had (and I am confident nobody has) the ability to cash out any bet involving the Mares Hurdle since the announcement came out Apple's Jade was going for the Champion Hurdle.

I've got 5 pts at 3/1 Mares Hurdle that are living proof :p

What an absolute CERTAINTY she would be in that, at 3/1. My best bet of the season.:devilish:

I have 5 points on here at 11/2 and my only hope is that the vaccination doesn't agree with her.

I'm not hoping for that though. I want to see what happens after BD,. Laurina and AJ jump the second last.

If anyone wants 11/2 Apples Jade in the mares then pm me I'm open to offers:devilish: *ante post rules apply
 
From Declan Phelan's weekend update...

I managed to have a chat this week with the girl who tends to Benie Des Dieux: the mare
has not been seen in action since the Punchestown festival last April: the news is that she is
in super shape and may go straight to the festival without a run to defend the OLGB Mares
race.
