Ladbrokes Trophy 2018

Trainer states Ms Parfois coming straight here so I've backed again at 22 lads with boost.
Surely the price will collapse once people look closely at the form with the top two in the market (both now worse off at the weights), and form of four miler.
Not certain what Willie will send here, but I'd guess at Rathvinden & Total Recall at least, based on his comments re Big handicaps then Nationals later in the season.
In which case Rathvinden off 154 (based on four miler form with Ms Parfois), they both finished a fence in front of sizing tennessee, who won a handicap off 143 at beginning October by 11l to Capeland who won himself at the weekend.
Rathvinden available at 33s Coral.
If he runs then he's likely 10-1 or shorter, unless willie sends over a team.

Are we taking her going straight there as a positive then?

I think the case for her is very solid, I've backed at 22/1 too.

Ms P is the other one I've backed for this. I'm fairly sure Ista will have her onside too.

It's not unusual for the race, as a lot don't want penalties and prefer to protect the mark from previous season.
But the horse, I;m not sure on that. She was entered up at least twice last week which makes you think Honeyball may have preferred a run.
My own slant, and I'm not a trainer. is that you ought to be able to get most horses fit enough at home. And have methods to robustly test this, especially in bigger yards.
The whole - race fitness, may need the run, needed the run comments that are often trotted out are probably in the main, excuses or pre-excuses IMO. Although I accept mostly genuine thoughts of the trainer and not bad intentioned.

Yes and yes although, like most, you'd expect him to come on for the run.

Must have been very happy with that archie!

Yeah smart run, must be pleased.
Would the Hennessy be on the radar now archie ?

Nothing like £26k to lift your spirits!:very_drunk:

Willie's comments would appear to say so although he also has an entry for the Durkan.

If he goes to Newbury off 157 plus a 4lb penalty you'd hope that Willie thinks that he'll be a contender in one of the Festival races.

Congrats,
Definitely been well placed this horse - although with regards the Ladbrokes trophy, not sure getting a penalty for beating mainly lower rated horses (getting weight) was ideal.
Can't see it running now in the Ladbrokes (even though Willie mentioned it) Likely top weight off 161 is a big ask considering overall form. Only monsters could pull that off. Could do with ground staying good, otherwise I can't see Willy running here.

No horse can carry more than 11-12 so, if the top horses come out it may be that the penalty won't be as much as 4lb. I'd imagine that no decision will be made until the 5 day confirmation.

Well done for Kemboy yesterday Archie !.

I'm not. Talk about being chucked in at the deep end for a horse that has historically needed a run and not done well first time out

Honeyball will have her fit. I wouldn't compare her prep for this to a chase debut at Uttoxeter.

She your selection for the race?
