Delighted that @ComplyOrDie has agreed to Captain the June wager.

Plenty of suggestions so far this year not yet captured, nothing to stop COD doubling up on previous selections or picking one or two of his own fancies.

Let the discussion begin.

We going win or E/W Yankee?
If its an E/W will throw The Jukebox Man in. 40/1with 365 is way to big!

I tend to always go E/W, so we will go down this route.

No real theme, although had considered a 'return of the kings' type yankee, the likes of Constitution Hill, Galopin Des Champs & Teahupoo, but this narrows down the selections a lot so decided to knock this on the head.

Throw your best bets at me 🙌

Which race for The Jukebox Man?

Only one race TJM is going and Gold Cup all the way imho.

Any update re his injury/recovery? Can’t remember how serious it was. Always wary of those that are injured until I see an entry

Got a soft spot of my own for Heartwood , 2nd to Fact to File in this years Ryanair .
Can't believe that the 7 year old Bay Gelding is available at 40-1 . .
And , i may be clutching at straws here , but Henry de bromhead , ran Envoi Allen in the ryanair for the last three years .
Which gives me Hope that Heartwood might do something similar ..🤞.

….i tend to think backing e/w or ‘win’ is personal preference. Regardless of price, I’d not be backing e/w this far out but I usually do a small stake e/w acca alongside a ‘win’ monthly forum Yankee.

Nothing to stop us including Doctor du Mesnil again, Bud Fox another novice hurdler suggested in May. The novice I think might be overlooked is Kadastral, who won the valuable Newbury bumper for Dan Skelton. Skelton mentioned him as his horse to follow next season, we understandably look to Ireland but Skelton has shown what he’s capable of with The New Lion.

Kadastral 50-1 Sup, 33-1 Turn.

As @Kautostar has said, we are still awaiting an update on his well being. I'm sure he'll be fine but you never know how they'll come back from an injury.

I also have reservations about which race he'll end up in.

I've actually backed him at 40's for the Ryanair, given his run style and the fact they even mentioned dropping down in trip with him, before he was ruled out of the festival.

I'm reluctant to even go down the novice hurdle route for the Yankee, to be honest.

It's looking as hard as I can remember for them currently, IMO.

I've compiled a list of races below to target for this months Yankee, so hopefully we can have a few opinions on these. I appreciate some of them are a little boring, but I do think they are the more solid options right now.

Arkle
Champion Hurdle
BANC
Champion Chase
Ryanair
Stayers
Gold Cup

Distinct lack of a Triumph hurdle amongst that group

Unibet be pricing in the next few weeks no doubt hahaha!

Thinks after the Champion Hurdle this year people will be looking at why have silver when theres a chance of gold.? And with GDC getting turned over should give them the push needed.

I know, not convinced it will be up in time for the end of June and even if it is it will only be a select few.

At a guess it’ll be October before any update is given on his wellbeing, back from the field July/Aug and only light work until Sept/Oct would be my assumption.
For me, and he is one I’d be interested in, I’d much prefer to take 20/1 after a positive Autumn update than climb in now guessing…

A thought. Is there merit in doing a King George/Gold Cup Double on The Jukebox Man with Cashout now ? My thinking is he ran a great race when winning the Kauto Star at Kempton so by my reckoning he has a better chance of winning the King George than the Gold Cup and if he does win the KG then his price for the Gold Cup will shorten substantially with a great Cashout opportunity. Am I over thinking.........or just bored with the Flat ! :):):)

If he was mine I'd be minding him during the Autumn and Winter, starting him slowly and building him up to March, for him to be a serious runner in the King George he would need to be in full work quite early and I'm not sure that's what you want to do with a horse who will be coming off the back of an injury and long absence...

We already have 2 selections for the BANC. However, although I strongly disapprove of using these yankees for book building, I made the case in March for Wendigo and I think that he's still value at 25/1.

Unfortunately, due to how early it is and limited markets we are going to have plenty of crossovers of races covered by these Yankees, unless we head into novice hurdle territory, which I'm keen to avoid.

Just looking at the Yankees so far, we've only had three done and we have the Arkle, BANC, Stayers & Gold Cup covered twice, no doubt at least one or two of these three times after I stick Junes one up. I would same it's almost unavoidable.

And we haven’t even started on the Bumper yet…

And we still haven’t included the banc winner final demand in one yet!
