JLT Novices 2018

:encouragement: That went according to the script. Bookies not pushed WC out much (now 7s) ....

Yanworth wouldn't be a factor in MArch for me despite winning unless it was heavy ground. Jumps too slowly to win a festival race IMO.... would have a better chance in the RSA than here.

He's a much more talented horse than Willoughby court you must admit that. His engine gives him a chance in any race.

If talent just means the engine then yeah. engine is good enough and makes him better than WC.

As a whole package though his jumping isn't at the moment. I prefer WC's attitude and jumping technique...

I couldn't back Yanworth at the festival with free bets! Just doesn't jump fluently enough for me to stake any money on it. Fair enough he got the job done today but take 5lbs off of WC in March and bar the bad mistake/hopefully better ground he would have been at least on terms I think today :/ Could come back to bite me in the a**e though but I wont be covering Yanworth

At the races.
Willoughby Court finished third for Ben Pauling, who said: "Nothing will change and he will go straight for the RSA.

Racing Post.
Willoughby Court's trainer Ben Pauling said: "Nothing will change and he'll go straight to the JLT.

Yanworth has disappointed at the last 2 festivals being favourite for Neptune and then Champ Hurdleand I can't have him at Cheltenham either.
Willoughby Court on better ground should be better but wonder if something will come out the woodwork

Would still be interested in Death Duty if Elliott puts him out again over the right distance.

No danger of that not happening. JLT a certainty surely. If he was a 3 miler they wouldn't have tried him over 2m1. GOt out placed in that.... JLT the only option and I think he's got a cracking chance.

WC giving 5lb thought was a decent effort ,Yanworth i feel lacks clinical jumping to hold his position at 2.5 mile at festival and Geraghty might get caught out going wide all the way around at festival at this trip. screams 3 miler to me.

Totally agree. Also, the King factor, doesn't win races at the festival apart from Mc Coy stealing a race for him.

I think the only thing that'll come out of the woodwork is that w.court made a mistake , but rallied well on heavy ground to make 3rd.

Tactics on Willoughby Court questionable today, although understandable they want to test his flexibility sometime before Cheltenham.

You make a valid point Montjeu. I expect him to go from the front at the fez.

Anyone have any post race comments regards Sutton place.. thought there would be massive market moves after today's victory

better ground March and WC stills wins for me. That 1 error today cost it.

GE said he's a horse for the future after today's race. It wouldn't surprise me if the skipped Cheltenham this year.

Needs to brush up his jumping and I'm not sure if he'll turn up at Cheltenham unless it's really soft. If he did go, he's clearly got a big engine but I'd say RSA rather than JLT so, in almost any circumstances it would be a wait for NRNB job.

If Sutton Place is a proper chaser then Kemboy is clearly better over fences than hurdles. Only small but very athletic and we should have some fun with him.

Good run from Kemboy :encouragement: was only a good jump away from getting very close there!

Good luck tomorrow. Tough task with the ground in Sutton Place's favour.

PP have Al Boum Photo as the shortest Mullins horse for the race.... 16/1. 25/1 is available. Tempted to get this in to my book. At the moment only 3 figures for RSA but that doesn't look like its the plan now.

Was going to hack up when falling last time out, with Tombstone well beaten and TOmbstone is alright...
and on chase debut beat Tycoon Prince by 7L, who won over Christmas beating Bunk Off Early who is a decent horse over hurdles... I think he's slightly under the radar because of the silks, as stupid as that is... and if this ends up being the Ruby/Mullins horse then it won't be anywhere near 25/1...

AS has just been mentioned in the yankee thread......Al Boum Photo cut with PP to 10/1 (left unchanged at 25/1 RSA) and not quoted for the Arkle....

That seems significant to me. Highlighted when 25/1 was available a couple of days ago, but 20s with WH is best now but I doubt that'll last long.

Added 2 pts already but will add a few multiples I think
