Handicap Shortlist - Cheltenham 2020

I think it could be beneficial to watch upping the ante each week. David Jennings tipped up the storyteller at around 20s for the pertemps and it’s now best priced 8s.

Gavin lynch tipped up Ilikedwayurthinking any race and it’s now best priced 12s I think any race maybe even shorter. They’ve both nailed the value for handicaps so could be useful going forward for anyone interested.

You'll find a few members are ahead of the curve on almost every bet they put up though :encouragement:

Yeah I know that’s usually the case from following other threads but it’s a select few and after reading that RSA one can confirm I won’t be bothering with that one any time soon looool

Will be paying closer attention to this one anyway for the following month or so

Olly saying Thomas Darby entered for a Handicap Hurdle at Ascot on the 18th. Very interesting as I had previously mentioned the County for him

You'd do better tuning in to this site.
Some have 36-1 storyteller for pertemps, and 22's any race.
Some quick thinking lads and lasses ? on here mouse.

Lobos will make do with 9/4 ew and eight places.

I also beat Jennings with the 36s for the Pertemps on The Storyteller partly due to this forum and my love for the horse anyway. I had already taken 22/1 any race a while back

Would need further like the coral, to try and find improvement

I personally think his ratings far too high, and he's handicapped to the absolute hilt off 151.

I like the mare never adapt for the county. Shes atleast 10 pounds well in. But she also wont get in. So would look clear to me they'll try and do the double with the betfair hurdle/ county.

I wouldn't worry about her pulling, she was messed about last time and settled. The better class of race she's in, the quicker they'll go, and the better she'll consequently be.

153 and 154 have been the previous two years top weights so a below par run or two in handicaps could see him drop 3 or 4 to a workable mark.

Bottom was off 127 last year so could squeeze in off 130. One more decent run in handicap company may be needed to make sure, I have backed her any race at 27s

Last year was soft ground and a lot of handicaps had lower ratings due to horses not being declared. Some handicaps even didn’t have a maximum field which is very rare. A normal year County you’d need mid 130s.

Year before it was 133 so I suspect something like that for this years

Started quick look at the Ultima tonight, ones I have noted so far are Cogry, Lake View Lad and Vintage Clouds. I know it is early but just wanted to get some horses in my head now for this and follow them for a month or two.

Nice run back by Portrush Ted at Ayr, probably get hiked 6 to 8 lbs there to take him up to the high 130s. Could be a Coral Cup horse with another decent run. Added to my list.

Greatrex saying he might go for a Pertemps qualifier. Also said he wouldn't want a quick ground fez though.

Thoughts on Column of Fire yesterday ?

Was certainly in the thick of things and will be a what if.... certainly would the discounting at this stage.. I have an AP tickets so obviously want to stay hopeful..

Along with Embittered and Conflated he's top of my list of likely Giggi candidates for the MP. Still 33s any race with B365 which is very fair, albeit it's a win only market.

....interesting article n Sporting Life website where Ben Linfoot and Matt Brocklebank select horses that have run over the holiday period that are worth monitoring;

Embittered (possibly Martin Pipe, but 25-1 in Hills and Sky any race markets).
Cerebus (F Winter).
Highway One O One.
Vis La Tou (Martin Pipe)
Ex-Patriot.
Musical Slave.

Another one of interest over the xmas period is discorama, 2m 4f hurdle 3rd behind easywork and unexecepted, 137 over hurdle, 11 below chase mark, must be possibility for one of the handi hurdles, coral cup if kept to smaller obstacles.

I’ve assumed they are trying to keep his mark low for the nash

The Pertemps would be a more obvious target than the Coral Cup for Discorama. Has been successfully used as a prep for the national in the past as well.

runner up twice at the fest, i was hoping he'd rock up there over hurdles, owner (Gemmell) mentioned it might be a year too early for the national but no decision yet made.

Ciel de neige blue on the TWAR board, anything mentioned anywhere?
