Does anyone know if Jade De Grugy is going back over fences for 26/27 season or indeed why she was reverted to hurdles after she had three races over fences last season 3rd (November), 2nd (December) and then winning a G2 Mares Novice Chase at Thurles mid January. She was then reverted back to hurdles to come 2nd in both Mares G1 Champion Hurdle races at Cheltenham and Punchestown. At 14/1 she looks a good option for the Mares Chase in March if she is going back over fences. I know Willie has Dinoblue who has a great track record at Cheltenham but she will be 10 years old next March. Willie also has Selma De Vary for the 2027 Mares Hurdle when in 2026 he didn't really have another option for the Mares Hurdle which might be why Jade De Grugy was reverted to hurdles for the Mares Hurdle this year.

My finger is hovering over the bet button so any feedback on the topic would be much appreciated.

I don't think it matters really what mullins says the plans are for her to be honest.

If she starts the season over hurdles, she could easily just revert to fences at any point, and vice versa. I think she'll just slot in wherever they find themselves lightest on numbers in the lead up to the festival. Would be nice if he said the mares chase was the big aim of course but I doubt he will.

Might be one that mixes it over both through the season, in which case there would be doubt over her target, and you'd probably be able to guess right in the lead up and get a decent price, like if the same owners kargese was looking mares chase bound then jade likely going for the hurdle, or if kargese was going champion chase and they had others for the hurdle like sepma de vary / bambino fever etc then you'd imagine mares chase for jade.

….was trying to recall when Hills started their a/r markets last year, think it might have been in the next month or so.

They are absolutely shocking prices, worse even than previous years. Barely anything is over 14/1. Was looking for a mistake in there somewhere but nothing that really appealed at all.

It's like they priced up a few then couldn't be arsed and said lets just make the rest 14/1 !
