I like Willie too but I think sometimes in the heat of the battle, the ego takes over, maybe it's the tension - Nico yesterday another example, and with some reflection he'd maybe take another view.

He obviously thinks he’s bigger than the game. If he throws his toys out the pram and doesn’t bring his horses over then fine. Cheltenham shouldn’t be run for his benefit.

Loved being at Cheltenham on Tuesday, there make some great improvements around the course - most noticeably being able to take your drinks out and about.

However, I switched off after the Turners Novices. You, like everyone involved with the sport, spend so much time and effort in the run up to Cheltenham - which starts as soon as 5-6 months out for some. And then….. false start after false start… it completely ruins the anticipation up to the start, it’s like VAR.
I feel for some of the owners and trainers who’s horses never had a chance due to these starts

Instead of jumping back onto my laptop to look at tomorrows card, I’m waiting the Golf.

Fact To Fact’s withdrawal baffles me. If it’s that bad withdraw your other horses. Aintree and Sandown would have been quick firm ground last year (the year where it didn’t rain) but Willie still sent his squad over to win the trainers championship

Some of my mates who aren’t into the sport but like to throw a few quid and watch the racing this week, commented on the false starts and how frustrating they are, and bad it looks

I don’t have the answer. Aware the ground was quick and we had big fields (that’s a huge plus this year), but this needs to be reviewed. I.e don’t have the field jogging in from a furlong out, ensure there soace to allow the field to line up after a even or even better don’t start around tbe bend. Don’t know… all I do know is, it needs improving. Throw in two pace makers for the first furlong. Drones. Two guys walking along with the tape between them. What ever, just need it sorting out

Anyway. Back to the golf

Rightly or wrongly a lot of people around me in the stand came to the conclusion that JP was driving the decision to withdraw FtF in order to give Jonbon the best chance to win a festival G1. Mullins seemingly rowing along with the decision etc. I always love Jonbon but I was chuffed that Heartwood spoiled the party.

I understand the frustration for punters especially casual ones with all the false starts.
But really, it’s swings and roundabouts. It’s the jockeys job to get the best start for the horse they are riding. Getting all those horses to play ball all at once will never ever happen.
It doesn’t happen with starting stalls.
It’s racing.
You’ll benefit sometimes and you’ll not sometimes.

Best bit of TV so far at the festival
The forced handshakes with queally and nico
Fucking brilliant TV
Cringeometer exploded
The thank you to Davy Russell could be the best line of telly I've ever seen.

Also wtf is his hairline? Just let it go mate, it's done. The equivalent of trying to get Jonbon a festival win aged 10

F2F's withdrawal poor imo. Won on fairly quick ground last year, there's no way that the slightly quicker ground this year would've caused him much issue (Bambino the same imo). We had an uproar when they watered and it rained more than expected so the clerks have little option.

As a side note, glad the mob got what they deserved with Jeriko and that handicpaping.

Wasn't it just. Hilarious and pathetic rolled into one.

I didnt even want to talk about it, fucking embarrassing, would rather have Gemma Collins on talking shite than watching that staged bull! That being said, I did LOL at the skit from good morning Cheltenham haha very good!

Good luck today all, still reading in the background, was slightly worried the war in Iran would escalate over here @Quevega :ROFLMAO:

Don’t really play antepost anymore with the hassle of account closures and getting folk to put bets on for me. Been here all week tho and looking forward to today.

Getaway now 0 from 64 runners yet Handstands & Backmersackme were plenty short enough in their respective markets, especially the latter. Not even a place!

Broadway Ted also not a huge price in the bumper, and was disappointing too.

Two today for him, though bigger prices than those before.

Was on course for the first three days and thought it was a fantastic experience.

Credit to the Jockey Club for turning it around.
