Just hope its something to do with the drainage, chafer grubs would be a huge problem for them, its what closed down Folkstone racecourse for a year or two..

Nicky got a withdrawl in, can't say I blame him given the circumstances.

They'll probably get away with it today. Could you imagine this happening in March?
Don’t even want to think about that!!
Would they now need to give the whole course a thorough inspection now?
They don’t seem to know the reason why a deep hole suddenly occurred.
Thank god the stayers in the cleeve avoided it!!!

Anyone have any ideas on when the bookies will go nrnb for the festival ? Usually up by now for one or two of them.

….i just noted in NRNB thread, looks like Hills have taken down their a/r market, not sure if that’s a precursor.

Probably worth working on the premise this season that they don’t go NRNB, rather than when they do, as most would have been NRNB for a least the main Championship races by now

I hope to be proved wrong , but I suspect it maybe a result of the budget taxation decisions taken by the Government and the bookmakers trying to improve margins, as was forecast by many pundits pre budget

It is a collapsed grave!!
Suspect its part of the drainage system as they seemed confident there wasn't any more spots like it on the home straight, it's just very lucky none stuck a leg in during the Rekeel finish as they was all in a bunch on that strip of ground, fingers crossed they've been having a good look already today and are working on the ground there as if that pops up again in 6 weeks times they'll be no racing on that strip at all, maybe all hurdle races would be rerouted onto the old course.
