I’ve just seen the still of the Photo finish for the last at Chelt yesterday . How have they called the winner off of that ? I was on the 2nd so defo pocket talking but either way it’s not a good look
They did not use the photo as it was not distinct enough. They used the video footage instead to determine the winner. Ben Pauling asked to see it and said he was "happy" with the result.

This happened 2/3 years ago in a bumper that was run in virtual darkness, I seem to remember a Skelton horse being given the verdict and everyone thought it should have gone the other way...

I also backed the 2nd and thought he was clear 2nd. And was relieved to get out on the photo on Betfair when it took so long the odds came right in, expecting a dead heat.

The photo was awful but I think the result is correct.

Someone in jest said it might be a grave! Well some years ago when they were digging the foundations of the ‘new’ stand they did find a horse grave that the racing authorities had forgotten about. It turned out to that of The Thinker (if I remember correctly). Could it be ????

1st instinct in real time was I was beat, but I’ve been watching racing/ betting since before I could walk lol. If we want to keep the newer generations watching and betting these kind of things will put them off. Especially if rightly or wrongly they think they should have won

….notice Lads have a Shuttle Diplomacy ‘special’, 33-1 to win Coral Cup. From what I can see, he needs another run to qualify after winning yesterday, at the moment he has an entry today.

Hoping that Only By Night will be left in the mares handicap hurdle at the DRF

Attracted support already

Missed the bigger prices but have taken a chance at 4/1

Certainly won’t be that on the day if declared

Got a real chance at the weights.
I nearly backed yesterday but just not sure what they are playing at.
I like Galileo dame also, and to follow up in the coral cup.

23lb lower hurdle mark than chase mark of 148. British handicapper would of had her racing off 145...

Galileo Dame would need to win in order to probably get into the Coral wouldn't she Q?

Yeah hard to know what the plan is

Can see a heap of non runners in the DRF because of heavy ground

Pissing rain again here all day

There’s good drainage at Leopardstown but we’ve had some serious rain here with plenty more forecast all week

probably not.
I'd expect she's be rated at least mid 130's if entered now.
if she runs at the weekend then it'll be her fifth run.
Pretty sure she's being lined up for coral or pipe.

No decision made yet

……notice the a/r markets are back up with Hills.

DRF could be in major doubt if the video I’ve seen is anything to go by!!

No doubt get moved but this weekend could be a push, completely waterlogged in areas. Foot of water guy says in the video.

Would be a lot of non runners i would think then too, another week closer to Cheltenham and on ground where they'd probably have a hard race.

Edit: would still be longer to festival than I thought, probably wouldn't change much.

But given the delays that some horses (especially in Mullins stable) have had it’s far from ideal in terms of getting a run into them.
