I was looking forward to him as I was in Oldtown when he won his point and thought he was impressive

Horses in behind have done nothing for the form though

Just as a matter of interest do you know who he went to ?

Thought it might be Cromwell as he trained 2 winners at last year’s festival from the dam ( Sway )

He went to Gavin.

The beauties at B365 have decided to withdraw the cash out function from my account - getting out the Let It Rain bet must have been the trigger. I was going to launch into a lengthy diatribe along the lines of ‘why offer it if you don’t want punters to use it (you c***s)’, however, I’ve been around long enough and lost enough accounts to realise doing so would possibly raise a flag. In hindsight I wish I’d just taken the hit - easy to say now but not so easy to stick to when you have the opportunity to recover what is a dead bet.

Posting this really as a gentle reminder to others to tread carefully and look after your accounts!

I had my cash out removed this exact week last year by Denise. It’s annoying at first, but with no cash out’s available it made me think twice about every bet placed and my profit and loss for the last year has been my best yet

It is ridiculous when they offer something then take it away when you utilise it, it's like they're testing you ! A mate of mine backed a few specials in hills a while back and he had a run of them landing, the manager said he couldn't back them anymore, he argued that he didn't choose them and they did but they weren't having it so again, why do they offer them then punish you for taking them !

Same. For playing silly buggers with Fact To File after he lost his beginners.

Their complete tits about it. They deliberately push the price out when a horse loses to stop people cashing out or to take a lower price for their bet. But they don’t like you taking advantage of the big prices.

The moral indignation of offering a service only where it suits their purposes is massively frustrating, but nothing will change. They’ll get away with whatever they want.

Ironically, I’ve had some big winners I would’ve cashed out of they’d let me, including Jasmin De Vaux last year @ 50/1 for a 200pt return.

Cash out is a big part of my strategy still, I just bet with PP mainly now. I’m sure I’ll lose privileges there too soon, but for now, my spending with 365 is down massively.

This article in todays Post is fucking mind blowing, one for the figures and sharp decline. And secondly for how the Post continue to blame it all on affordability checks.
I've not been bothered by one affordabilty check yet, but have bet less over the last 2 years because they won't fucking let me bet more.
Also had a losing year so far, so would have lost more.
Which explains why both turnover and profits are both down.
Then you look at the graph showing the rise in casino activity vs all other sports and you just end up fuming and come on her for a rant.
Fucking staring you in the face.
Government, BHA whoever the fuck it concerns - get your fucking act together.

We need minimum accept wagers for ALL clients and they need to more closely monitor regular casino bettors.

a lot of this is also the bookies themselves. see how quick they are to react to winning accounts and rsstrict betting. they are abusing legislation when they choose to. they are so risk adverse and really just want you to pump money into slots.

several of my mates won with a small free bet and were immediately restricted despite overall winning being less. than 100 quid.

if you look across this forum the number of restricted accounts is massive and that will never reverse, so a few are holding onto the one/two accounts still accepting bets but only one win away from a full restriction.

bha aren't blameless as they just seem incapable or organising themselves into a narrative that cuts through- most of their time seems ro be spent apologising to pressure groups

There's a problem and it pisses me off - particularly your point about restricting accounts, but where the fuck is the evidence that betting income should have increased with inflation?!

Still a 1.5 billion shortfall if it had flat lined, but it annoys me when stupid assumptions like rising with inflation are made when all evidence I'm aware of suggests the opposite (e.g., reduced leisure time spending because that money is going on food/energy bills). Just gives naysayers an unbelievably simple response to shoot down the story...

Some absolute sense spoken in the last few messages, i dunno if the racing post actually believes the shite it's writing or if they just don't want to upset their bookie sponsors ! Bookies need to be slapped into line, they get away with murder but nowt will happen.

They can't bite the hand that feeds.

The RP is just as complicit being the sports main news outlet.

The biggest surprise to me is that the good people at the bible didn’t hide this article behind the paywall….

They should be forced to separate casino betting from sports betting completely. Actual separate sites and logins with no links. That would prove that the large majority of problem gamblers are hooked on slots and bingo.

The gambling commision simply will not regulate the bookies for the benefit of the paying customers, its duty of care advice to bookies puts the onus on the punters, it often hides behind IBAS, the amount of loops u have to go through for anything other than a simple bet resolution is unrealistic. There is no way forward in trying to achieve a "unfair practice" by the bookies for things like restricted accounts, its almost as if a restricted account is what the gambling commission wants as a result. In my experience anyway.

Yep - you cannot really do away with the power of the bookie to decide not to play with any specific client.

However, the minimum bet/lay option that is used in other countries is definitely something that would alleviate the issues for your average punter.
There is absolutely no way punters who bet their tenners and twenty quids should be restricted to pence.
The risk is absolutely minimal to most bookmakers.
The minimum wager they each have to take should be related to the companies profits allowing smaller operations to have tighter control/lower minimums.

And by all means any bookmaker should have the right to close down anyone who abuses terms and conditions, like multiple accounts etc.

And archie 's idea is bang on.
The skill based sport betting is entirely different to most of the fixed odds stuff in casino world. And IMO much more addictive and easy to lose fast.

I’d be fairly sure bookmakers use affordability checks as an excuse to interrogate punters knowing they won’t comply so they are able to restrict/close punters at will.
I was asked by two major bookmakers to provide my details and both accounts were significantly profitable so the skill element, whilst a valid suggestion, is likely to lead to more restricted accounts anyway.
They’re bookmakers, they’ll do whatever they want that’s in their interests, and as has always been the case the regulator looks the other way….

I run an IFA and Estate Planning business and every year I send out Xmas cards with scratchcards inside to all my clients 150+.

Not fucking this year, you can only buy 10 at a time from fucking shops, as the nice lady told me in Sainsburys this morning.:love_heart:

Restrictions everywhere.:dejection:
But one I'm delighted about as spending two day writing Xmas cards out is not my favourite job, as you can imagine.:applouse:
Think the lady at Sainsburys was also delighted as counting out that many is not easy for some.

Donation to charity instead me thinks :loyal:
