In view of his injury do we think he'd be more likely to stay over Hurdles initially?
I considered this recently and had a look at the CH hurdle market and was surprised he wasnt quoted

Last year if my memory serves me correctly then his novice chase season was changed to hurdles at one point based upon Constitution HIlls health?…..whose to say it doesnt happen again?

Has Willie said Kopek will definitely be going over fences ?? Before last season started his owners were all in for him being a Champion Hurdle horse this season. What's changed??
If Lobos is out of summer hibernation and starting to post again……then this must mean the NH season is starting, the Festival is nearer and Mullins bingo is about to start…..god I have missed it!😀

Having watched last years Supreme a few times recently then KDB does look a ‘gangly’ thing and maybe better suited to a fence IMO

I suppose though a lot depends on how they jump at home when back in training (as KDB is I believe now) and owner/trainer plans

I've asked myself the same question but came to the conclusion I can't see them staying over hurdles all the time they have State Man and Lossiemouth (yeah yeah yeah) as their Champion Hurdle darts, there's absolutely zero point staying over hurdles if they plan stepping him up at some point so I think they'll go down the Arkle route and look at his stamina next Summer and decide what his 2027 target will be.
As with all things Mullins, I could easily be miles off....

I'd be fairly confident that, in a few weeks time, they'll pop all last season's novice hurdlers over a few schooling fences and go from there.

Struck my first Cheltenham bets today after weeks of strategizing (and missing a couple of prices i was keen on) Doctor Du Mesnil x2, Bud Fox, Hedlam, Honesty Policy, Kawaboomga, Derryhassen Paddy, Wendigo, Kalif Du Berlais and Gaelic Warrior have all joined the team :p:p Also struck my King George bets - Caldwell Potter, Il Etait Temps and The Jukebox Man.

The aim is to try and finalize the early season Cheltenham squad before the stable tours then sit back, watch and wait. There are a few i need to get in, probably in the next couple of weeks and a couple i am waiting to enter the market, looking at you Minella Machine and can't wait for it all to begin again. I am going to leave my bets a little longer this season and be happy to lose a few points on horses that look like they have a good chance of going then bigger stakes for a small hit on the price with smatterings of early ante post picks thrown in to potentially top up on. Still book building but more conservatively like Spectre does. Are you doing your videos this year @Spectre ? One of the highlights of my season. I download them as an MP3 and stick them in my ears when i am out walking.

When do you 'multis' fellas start putting them together? I am going to try and do a few more of them this season

I'll probably get a right slating for saying this , but i start on Multi's as soon as the festival is over , ....
Just a few ,... usually " obvious Possible target's " ... Supreme /Turners to Arkle or Ch hdl ., ..
b.a.n.c. to ryanair / gold cup . mares nov hdl to mares hdl ,.. and repeat wins . ..
usually with freebets too ... got to start sometime , and grab those Big Prices ;).

This is a bit off the wall but it’s the time of year when I renew Raceform interactive before that it was (the now defunct) Chase form. I was wondering what do others out there on the forum do to keep up with form.

Looks like skybet cut him from 7/1 this morning to 5/1 on the back of that interview.

Pretty much blue everywhere, 6/1 best now.
Fairly predictable if we're honest but how much value existed in the 7/1 that was available before the interview is debatable...

Just been looking through the Champion Chase betting. I know horses can make their name as the season goes on but with this division you kind of know what the 2 mile open chasers look like. Even at this stage (before the season starts) it looks like it is only a possible 4 or 5 runner race. That's pretty grim. Kalif Du Berlais is an absolute standout at the current prices. Each way terms wise

@darlojim I know you are a big fan (me too) but where do you see Anzadam in this season? With Lulamba seemingly primed for a go at the Arkle and State Man now entering his veteran stages, would you say one more season over hurdles? He looked mighty impressive and has unfinished business in that sphere for me. But this is Willie 'Get them over a fence ASAP' Mullins.

If you're after some each way thievery for the Champion Chase then does Quilixios not appeal ?
Looked for all money to be trained for a handicap last season only to end up in the race and be bang upsides the winner at the last.
It seems a lifetime ago he hacked up in the Triumph but will only be a 9yo come March and has far fewer miles on the clock than you'd think, his Arkle was ruined when the starter allowed them go despite him looking at Cleeve Hill when he was very well fancied, he could be one to ignore for the most part of the season but you know HDB will have him spot on at a course the horse clearly loves....

It's a fair enough shout Ista. I would want a big price and would probably get that on the day I would imagine. He took one hell of a fall last season and was never seen since. I thought he was a gonner the way he thumped the deck. Haven't looked through Henry's yard yet properly at his 2 milers, we know he likes the champion chase. I'm at the point of the season where I am looking at trainers and the big owners to see who could possibly have what where so I'm sure something will appear

I've no clue what they will do with him mate

If he wasn't injury prone, I'd say he was an absolute cert to be chasing, but now the injuries probably push it the other way and I'd be slightly leaning towards him staying hurdling. It's much easier to keep a horse sound over hurdles

With that being said, I have been nibbling some small bits on Mundi for the Arkle on Betfair. Whatever way Anzadam goes, I expect Mundi will do the opposite
