Forget Goodwood, next week's serious action is at Galway.

Airlie Beach has an entry for the Hurdle so I've looked up a few 10 year stats for the winners which I'm happy to share.

10/10 previously won a hurdle over 2m or 2m1f.
9/10 aged 6 or 7. The exception was Clondaw Warrior last year aged 9.
9/10 rated 130 to 145. The exception rated 120.
9/10 carried 10-4 to 11-6. The exception carried 9-10.
Number of days since previous run ranged from 3 to 87 and, interestingly, 7 had their previous run on the flat.
6/10 had won a handicap hurdle previously. Of the other 4, 2 were having their first run in a handicap hurdle.
8/10 started at 7/1 or less although only 3 started favourite.

Hard to finds angles on the Plate and Hurdle.

....but Meade very bullish on Road to Riches - had some problem with his spleen which is now apparently resolved.

Done a patent today 1. The birdie crowe - 3-50
2. Jefferson davis - 4-25
3. balko des flos - 5-35 good luck if your playing .

Meade's chat plus my love for him mean a heart over head dabble on Road to Riches, just because I'll be so happy if he wins

The Plate winner usually carries less than 11st. Balko Des Flos ticks most of the boxes and looks nailed on each way.

Tomorrow, Airlie Beach is declared for the Galway Hurdle. Paul T on board although Ruby said it was a tough choice between her and Max Dynamite.

She's fit, well and on a very fair mark. It's a purely personal view that 2 miles at Ballybrit may be a bit sharp and that she'll certainly need a breather during the race. If she can settle behind Henry's horse rather than battle him for the lead, there's every chance that she'll run on up the hill.

Done a longshot e/w yankee

Balleybolley 20-1 5.35
Buster dan dan 33-1 4.25
California soul 40-1 5.00
my painter 16-1 3.50

thursdays L. 15 for me is.... 1. Townshend -2-15
2. music box -3-25
3. Lac kivu - 4-00
4. Tigris river - 4-35 , think they are all favourites at the mo ??.
