BHA handicapper has to assess a British mark for him also, usually its 3 or 4 lbs more than the Irish mark, but could be higher. Would be very surprised if he is put up over 145 however based on that Irish mark of 136.

HRI have aassesed the race, as Longhouse Poet didn't have to improve to win it so left him on 139.
RWF up 1lb for getting a close 2nd.

UK ignore Irish marks and produce their own.

It will be interesting if both dont run now until getting Cheltenham Festival handicap entries.

Or if they do run, how they perform, and how their rating are impacted.

LP could be a NHC type.
Though the trainer mentioned staying-trips in novice handicap chases, which their is only one in Ireland the Saturday before the Festival over 3M.

Jerrysback has taken my eye. Nice 3rd yesterday from 599 days off. Hopefully gets left on 142.

Kilfillum Cross still 33s for this and second last 2 Festivals

He is also 3 pound below last year

Might be great EW play

Also wonder if Big River might try here after 2 Close tries in Ultima .....prob more EW NRNB play nearer time

He is also below last year’s mark and string at festival....but I think less likely wo win one than Killfllym Cross

Was with him last year and I agree he will run another big one this year. No harm in 33s just feel he will find one or two, too good again. Big river is tidy on his day but hardly ever wins. He’s got to be one of the most laziest horses in training. All depends what side of the bed he gets out of.

Someone was very strong on him last year and have to say I’ve missed him being dropped 3lb assuming that’s the case, one that needs very careful consideration...

Already in my team at 33s. a horse that always jumps well and gives his true running. Def a place shout

He is indeed. Definitely caught the eye on his return at Ascot.
He was actually all but confirmed for the Ultima in 2019, before a last minute switch to the NHC upon day one declarations that festival.
So I always assumed if he were to return to the festival they'd go for that race.
But his mark of 142 definitely brings the Kim Muir into play and would probably push them towards there.

Oh god I knew this would happen. I’m definitely readying myself to follow in having already decided days ago that I’m not jumping on this bandwagon. He’s overhyped and too short... isn’t he? :dejection:

Haha, the NRNB is tight at 12/1 (5 places) to be fair for here.

....and best priced 16/1 without the concession is a no....(for me)....

....but I like to see how confident jono is :smiley_simmons:

It’s ok I’ve taken a breath and I’m thinking straight again. PP/BF have taken no chances with this market... all those at sub-16s are of interest but they’re all poor value, for me. If someone was dangling 25s (without nrnb) I’d take a chance.

The only think niggling at me....is I feel like I automatically now dismiss JP handicap plots because there are so many.... but it meant Dame De Compagnie and Sire Du Berlais slipped by last year.

WHat I'm thinking though, is Barry was the reason they won... (which means feck all in this race obviously), but still..... JP plots are so, so often over bet.... that it's not smart to follow them.... I want last year to be a freak year....
