Did wonder at the time if the handicapper won't take too kindly to the owners screenshotting what seemed an informal email and posting it on twitter

So what does this mean for Escaria Ten. Will Gordon run him in the Ultima? I don't think so. It's not a race he likes and ET is very inexperienced for a race like that with only 3 runs over fences.

More likely to go for the Irish National I imagine.

And what does this mean for Gordon's line-up in the Kim Muir?

Surely the prices on Run Wild Fred (8-1 nrnb) and Farclas (12-1 nrnb) will shorten very soon.

Both have a decent shout in what increasingly looks like an open race.

Farclas likely to be too high for this? Going to be close
 
Braeside runs on Monday and Roaring Bull a for GE in this with RWF.

I can see Farclas in the Ultima

My efforts at presenting stats and trends is GCSE at best. So instead of wasting time with a half baked effort I’ll post my observations and selections so far. This is one of the rare races at the festival that horses can return and place or go one better and win. JP McManus has the best record of all owners and always secures some of the better amateurs. Horses with plenty of chasing experience tend to perform better regardless of their previous race results (handicap plots). Therefore so far I’ve covered the following:

Minella Times - Trained by one of the best jumps trainers in Ireland HDB and owned by JP. He’s competed in some good races so far and has the necessary experience and talent. It will be interesting to see where he is in the JP jockey order though with Dickie Diver ahead of him in the betting.

Roaring Bull - has won some big races in Ireland. Loads of experience and trained by the handicap genius Gordon Elliot. He’s either gone completely off the boil or a classic handicap plot for the Cheltenham Festival or a big handicap race pit in Ireland. Owned by Gigginstown who won this race last year.

Run Wild Fred - Same connections as above. Has been improving as the season has progressed and has lots of races this season in preparation. Could be the most obvious selection of his jumping holds old. His finishes too races in the early part of the season was weak but now getting stronger. I think he will be primed to perfection in 6 weeks time.


Escaria Ten - Like everyone we thought we’d found our treasure in ET but he may not appear in this race now because of his handicap mark. I hope he goes to the NHC personally.

Bob Marhler & Plan of Attack - Both placed last year and ran well. Could return and go better this Festival

Amateur jockey riding Braeside in the Handicap on Sunday.
Looks like he's been told, if you do well Sunday, then you may get to ride at Cheltenham, if allowed.
Or they've ran out of jockeys, cos Elliot declared shitloads :highly_amused: - Only 4 though I think.

Are we expecting Minella Times to finish in a position to hopefully be dropped a few Ib's on Sunday considering it's on a mark of 140 already?

I'd imagine they are trying to win.
It's worth more than the Kim Muir.
