Cause of causes in the cross country

Rawnaq in the stayers hurdle:highly_amused:
what's the latest on RAWNAQ any ideas? I backed it quite a lot before injury struck!

Cause of Causes for me for the Yankee also

I'm in. Like the suggestions so far. Just flagging the race for Elegant Escape appears very much in the balance with the trainer apparently leaning towards the RSA.

As per my recent comments on the National Hunt Chase thread there was a potentially significant price cut by PP on Elegant Escape into 10s today. So might be worth taking the chance at 20s for this bet.

How does this look then with Bet365?

If the Cap fits - Supreme10/1
Elegant Escape - National Hunt 20/1
Al Boum Photo - JLT 25/1
Cause of Causes - Cross country 5/1

As a general rule, backing a Mullins horse when the target is far from certain is not my favourite way to spend my money ...

Earlier I placed an almost identical each way Yankee, although replaced Al Boom Photo with Coney Island @12/1.

Worth noting that B365 are 1/4 odds for all races (I think)

Haha...fair point....also risks around the targets for If the Cap Fits and Elegant Escape

I wouldn't knock that. Wouldn't want the leg I put up to go down before the festival and the others go in. :)

I'd put msassa up with confidence for the triumph. But the price is poor for one that hasn't been seen, Might still be double figures after Sunday.

If the cap fits far from certain supreme. Looks the easier race. But that dosent always prevail.

Not certain but I think it'll take a defeat at 2 miles for them to step him up in trip now.

I was told 3 days ago that is was very much still in the balance with slight preference for the ballymore.
Financially it makes no difference to me other than I'd rather he went for the supreme as I'm pretty sure I have the ballymore covered. I do hope he goes supreme now. And hopefully they lean that way

I'll rephrase that, i saw a quote by jasonn Maguire the racing manager which someone sent to me. Not very helpful but I can't find the quote.

"Noel said that whatever you ask of him he gives it to you. Hopefully it will continue all the way to March (Cheltenham).

"Noel said to mind him but we'll leave it up to Harry where he goes next.

"He naturally seems to be a good jumper, though you could argue a bit more experience would do him no harm.

"We're just slightly surprised at the speed he has shown on his last two runs."

I've watched an interview on RUK with JM but he didn't state a preference for any particular race, other than to say that both options were available.

That's the interview I watched on RUK. Doesn't state a preference for Ballymore, in fact, he stopped himself from naming a target.

I can't find another quote, . It's very much in the balance anyway.

It's simular to neon wolf. All the same attributes but hes not ground dependant. Owner had the winner of the ballymore trainer had the 2nd last year. They were always aiming at the ballymore. Now just realised he has the pace for 2..... Supremes very open it all makes sense.

"Jason Maguire says no decision as to which @CheltenhamRaces Festival race If The Cap Fits will be aimed at after his 5-length win @kemptonparkrace. Cut to 10-1 for supreme"

Thats the only other quote I can find. I did see a differnet one though. But i diddnt take huge notice as i have him covered for both
