FJ Ante Post yankee

I'm in :encouragement: Shouts for the below would be fine with me though the bottom 2 have a question mark on target

Cause of Causes - XC
If The Cap Fits - Supreme
Elegant Escape - 4 Miler

Willoughby Court for the JLT?

Yorkhill wins the Ryanair :devilish:

Monalee while he is still a price 7/1 for the RSA?

I do like Willoughby too.

It’s hard enough keeping any a/p Yankees alive with the threat of injuries, so prefer horses to have fairly definitive targets at this stage.
Ideas for E/W prices:
Bumper: Didtheyleaveuoutto
Stayers: The Worlds End
GC : Disko
Arkle : NHH

I like:

RSA: Monalee
Stayers: The Worlds End
JLT: Willoughby Court
4 miler: Elegant Escape

Might not be too popular, but even the biggest Samcro fans might want a small saver?

On The blind Side ballymore. Top rated novice on either side of the Irish sea so far by 3lbs (timeform) and I can't name 3 Vetter than him or that I expect to be better in March.

Who is this year's person to pick the Yankee?

It has historically been a been a newbie. I'd nominate Scooby this year.

SeanRock .... he's winning the stable stars ....(and I offered that up as the prize for whoever is winning at Christmas)

Scooby can do one a daily one or the overall one this year when we do those?

Will back whoever does them. Wasn't very successful last season, I know because I done one of the days, but I'm sure this years will be better :)

Fair enough Kev. Just seen this on the other thread:encouragement:

From an occasional posters perspective, I think there is enough knowledge on here to make it a team effort rather than one person. Scooby is a fantastic book compiler but that requires a completely different mindset to a Yankee as you only get one chance per race. Similarly, winning the Stable Stars requires an element of luck due to the format.

Picking one winner for the whole week can sometimes be a challenge so expecting one person to land 4 on a given day is incredibly tough. You also need to cover handicaps as well and these are not always everyone's speciality.

I'd say you're doing the forum a disservice if you don't utilise all the knowledge in here.

I wouldn't disagree. It a not easy to pick certain runners this far out that are value. and id be inclined to look for horses at a price with an element of risk attached to it.
Which wouldn't be the best, with other people's money.
Also my selections now compared to a month ago/ next week, or on the day. would be different as it's far more price related rather than just who I think will win.

You're both right ... but are probably over thinking it at this stage.

Completely agree it should be a team effort and that is the idea, the team post horses and just one member (ideally newish) gets to pick from combined knowledge.

There shouldn't really be any pressure as no one has to put the bet on... and I've already done a Yankee that I fancy that I know I'd pick... which i doubt will be the same haha

Are we having an e/w and win like last year? If so scooby could do one and SeanRock the other?

I put one on myself based on the work in the previous festival form thread taking a mixture of winners and a place

Gc: might bite
Rsa: monalee
Jlt: willaghby court
Xc: cause of causes
