With markets settiling down a little more, any more picks for this?
I’m making the decision now.
EACH WAY YANKEE.
1. Ultima
2. Close Brothers
3. Mares. I think we can get the fav beat.
4 will go to whoever can present the best case for an each way bet in any of the other races.
Personally, I’m struggling with day 1 myself, so I’ll leave my picks for tomorrow.

I'm all over Riders Onthe Storm in the Close Bros but he has hardly been missed in the market. Others do appeal to me in the race at an each way price, namely Lough Derg Spirit (Nico jocked up) and Shady Operator.

1. Coo Star Sivola - case been made elsewhere but only 3 lbs higher than winning last year, not ground dependant, trainer is an excellent target trainer... and also has a superb Festival record.
2. Riders Onthe Storm - just 'cos I haven't got anything on him
3. Limini is rated the same as Benie Des Dieux... clutching at straws here though?
4. Anything in the Supreme.... that isn't shorter than 5/1

With Kev on this, I have backed COO STAR SIVOLA at big odds as soon as I judged his runs suggested he would be using them to have a second crack at the Ultima, aged only 7 yrs, has already run very well at 3 Festivals.
Won on soft ground last year, so any soft in the going description would suit him well.

I wouldn’t bother trying to get the shorty beat in the Mares race.
Plenty of mileage in HARDLINE to win the Arkle at 7/1 in a small field. Already got solid grade 1 form, and looks at least as good as the two favs, if not better.
