Equine Flu Outbreak

I got a phone call from someone involved with a Southern racecourse yesterday afternoon and they mentioned this to me. Perhaps just a rumour.

Yeah hope so, bound to be plenty more over the next few days too.

Notice that PP odds are less bullish than yesterday about the resumption of racing next Wednesday. Also Chelt Festival odds now available 1/10 will start on time 12th March or 9/2 won't start on 12/3. I'm seriously thinking of hedging some of my GC green book profit at 9/2.

Paddy pricing up nrnb all races ,currently have day one done

if it's endemic, then it will likely show up in plenty of swabs, just to what levels,
when a virus is endemic it means most people or animals will carry it, but it's not always easy to tell if it's an old trace or new. But the specialists should have an idea about the activity levels.
Bit like the epstein barr virus amongst humans, and the thousands of others we all carry on a day to day basis.

not a doctor by the way but just off top of my head.

After tests it turns out tiger roll has not contacted equine flu

Apparently he is just a little hoarse

I know

James Tate, based in Newmarket has confirmed his horses have tested negative for it, one of which was at the same Wolverhampton meeting as a Donald McCain horse on Monday.

If anyone's interested Jeremy Vine is discussing the Equine Flu outbreak on Radio 2 at 1.30pm today

Deleting as don’t want to put anything up unsubstantiated that feeds the hysteria

Another 3 from McCains diagnosed now according to RP

See Ryan from On the hunt podcast just tweeted this:

No idea where he is getting info from to say this but obviously doesn’t sound good. He does like a wind up but odd thing to that on

All seemingly from one yard as it stands. Only one other 'suspicious' case elsewhere but nothing confirmed for that one yet.

Getting worrying this

Better to link the actual reports than quoting unsubstantiated claims on twitter....talking to myself here

Only responded to you Stormez as though you’d responded to my original post but realise it was COD. Racing Post tweets are all good in my book

No problem!

PP not accepting bets on No will The Festival start on 12th March. They were 9/2 earlier.
