Cross Country Chase 2019

KD after winning on Ben Dundee just said re Tiger Roll 'off level weights in March we will be fairly confident' followed by a big Cheshire Cat grin. They know :)

Plenty of support for TR this last 24 hrs started with PP cutting from 4/1 to 5/2. Still some 7/2 around but reckon that might disappear over next few days. Slightly annoying as was hoping to have a couple of months to pile up the free bets at 4s and 7/2.

Squateour looking sour in last two runs - maybe needs a spin over the banks

Does anyone know if there has been any talk of Rathvinden potentially coming here.
I understand he's been aimed at the National and wonder if Willie would consider this as a prep.
Noticed he's been priced up with B365,
apologies if this has already been mentioned, but couldn't be arsed going through the whole thread.
I'll have a look if he's entered for the cross country a week a friday and will post on here if so.

Not been mentioned in this thread after a quick search.

Would be interesting as an angle, personally feel like Willie would take a more tradtional route with his Grand National hope and his record in this race is not decent. Can only see Uncle Junior 3rd placing in 2015 and Shakervilz 2nd in 2013.

Different horse, is he a wild price? (Would check you can cash out if you're having a go (obviously))

Fact Of The Matter winning today unlikely to cause any great shakes in this market.

Josies Orders was running on well again at the end so may be better off level weights, but Tiger Roll slips aren't in danger based on today.

Added My Honetown @ 25/1 and Balleycasey @ 20/1

That was a decent first try from ballycasey

Was never in it to win it. That was an ‘anything you can do I can do better’ run from Willie, aka, he used this to school him round the way Gordon has in recent years with COC and TR.

Yeah he warmed to it.... suspect stayer? May get away with it given the type of race?

Maybe but he wasnt asked too many questions. Seemed to take to it well.
Im all in on Tiger Roll but weighing up a cover bet on Ballycasey.

Amazing Comedy was given a very easy ride.

Too well fancied today without delivering the goods to be a danger?

Travelled too well to be anything other than the trip?

Price unlikely to move now for a while so you'll have time to weigh it up. 25s is he?

Tiger Roll could revert to hurdles after trainer Gordon Elliott decided against running his Randox Health Grand National hero at Cheltenham on Friday.

The diminutive chaser claimed his third Cheltenham Festival success in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase in March before winning the world’s most famous steeplechase at Aintree the following month.

He made a pleasing reappearance when fourth under a big weight in another cross-country race at Prestbury Park last month and was being lined up for a return to the course this week.

However, upon realising the race was another handicap – meaning Tiger Roll would have had to concede weight all round again – Elliott had a change of heart.

Speaking after saddling a winner at Cheltenham on Friday, Elliott said: “I thought it was a conditions race and I didn’t want him running off top weight again giving stones away.

“I’ll probably give him one more run over hurdles before March to open his windpipes up.
“Back here in March is his Gold Cup, all being well.”

Music to my ears Kev. Couple of cover bets but agree, didn't see anything yesterday to have me worried about TR.

Surprised no one's mentioned Auvergnat , who won the 3m PaddyPower chase today,
at Leopardstown by 6 lengths.Trained by Enda Bolger and owned by J.P Mcmanus.
Auvergnat is 12-1 for the Glenfarclas cross country Chase on the wednesday of the festival.

Never quite delivered in XC events for me, actually I’ll correct that because Auvergnat has a PP Hogan and Le Touche Cup to his name, but he’s never really delivered at Cheltenham.
Clearly a talented horse but only an exceptional horse can lower Tiger Rolls colours for me...

Iv backed him at 12s. as much as a token bet as anything as iv backed him every year At big prices.

Can't be backing these shorties in races like this personally.
