Ground a concern for both Cause Of Causes and Tiger Roll?

Is there a proper soft ground horse in this? Would be helpful if he could jump round as well.

The Last Samuri? Loves some cut. Not sure if he’s a runner though

I wouldn't waste my time looking outside these two if I was you

I wouldn't even look just incase I find one, I'm sticking with CoCs come what may...

causes would be 6/4 if it wasn;t for tiger roll

One that will improve for give underfoot is Auvergnat, but needs to overcome jumping issues to figure...

Without the potential soft ground angle being against the two favourites I doubt that I would have got involved.

With Tiger Roll you have the additional question mark of whether he will enjoy/cope with it.

In the end I came down on the side of Urgent De Gregaine each-way. Judged on his two previous efforts there won't be a better jumper in the race and that in itself is a fair plus. He travelled well last time but looked to get outpaced or perhaps he may not have fully recovered from his previous race? Clearly he has to find a stone but the ground might help with that and at double figure odds he looks to have at least a chance of placing.

Any Cause Of Causes fan who watched the atr preview last night would be a little concerned about Gordon's full quote about Tiger Roll as per Kevin Blake.

What was said Archie? Think TR wants proper good ground myself

The printed report was TR was 'flying' at home. The actual words according to Blake were he's 'f*cking flying'. Blake is convinced that he's Gordon's number one.

I couldn't tell if Blake was just trying to wind Kennedy up though or if he actually said it! Certainly the 'he's fucking flying' quote seemed a wind up?

It was a wind up chaps - he want to say that “in all seriousness “ and gave his view.

Frank Hickey ...

I’ve been very keen on Tiger Roll (5/1) for a few months now heading into the Cross Country Chase.

When you look at his profile, you’d suggest he didn’t take too well to the banks course the first time out in December. He travelled well for a long way and just seemed to tire late out. He has almost the exact same profile as Cause of Causes had last year.

He’s a past festival winner, having claimed the Triumph Hurdle back in 2014 and the four-miler last year.

While Cause of Causes will be a tough nut to crack, I reckon Tiger Roll has a big chance at taking them on in this one. He’ll be difficult to beat.

My continued issue with the line I keep hearing.... Exact same prep as Cause of Causes last year ..... is that I don't see why that is MORE of a positive, than the horse who last year had that prep AND won it, and is STILL IN THE RACE.

Wehn CoC had that prep, he had to beat Cantlow.

Tiger Roll has to beat the previous years winner.

I am yet to read a case for Tiger Roll that doesn't use Cause of Causes' prep last year as a benefit...

The only thing I can think of is the fact he's got up the hill twice, which is great - however that still isn't as good as Cause of Causes' record up The hill

I think people forget just how easily CoC won this race last season. He won by 9 lengths, and was so strong running up the hill. He will have had to regressed to be beaten by TR and I can't see why that would happen.

Was interesting to hear Tony Keenan say he reckoned Tiger Roll has won two of the worst ever races to be held at the festival. I get the impression from Elliot’s comments that they think he will go well but Cause of Causes will be hard to beat. It is clear that CofC is the yard favourite and, as with Samcro, I think they are just being a bit more understated in what they say about him than perhaps they might think - fully expecting the 1-2.

The Boylesports preview is interesting in this regard.

Any CoC backers including myself starting to worry yet?! Seems a lot of confidence on tiger roll last few days. Was listening to the final furlong pod today and Kevin Blake stated Elliot was more bulliish about tiger roll than any other horse in the yard! And he wasn’t taking the p*ss!

How it is atm I can see tiger roll going off Fav!
