Cross Country Chase 2018

That's why, if I were you, I would be covering with Tiger Roll 12/1 NRNB. He is 8 and the above concerns do not apply.

Iv personally got
Cause of causes 9/1 2pts
Auvergnat 14s 1pt

I won't be covering with tiger roll. I might back the french horse or bless the wings ew nearer the time But I'll give you some credit your certainly passionate about his chances.

Anyone got any concerns about the effects of a hard race in the national will have on cause of causes ?
I know from stats winners of the national struggle to win another race, not sure about placed horses
The horse is 10 now and has not seen a racecourse since
I don't think the race at loepardstown will be that informative either
Not that many miles on the clock but reminds me of on the fringe in the Foxhunters last year
Hope I am wrong as a lot of you seem knee deep in the horse this year

He ran in the National in 2015 then won the Kim muir at Cheltenham the following season, so I wouldn’t be to worried about him running in the National. I’ve got a fair bit of investment in him, bet365 pretty much offering me double my stake on my causes bets now, but will let it run and I won’t bother covering. What will be will be!

Just hoping he gets to the race in one piece. A run for my money will do me!

My heart goes every single time theres an unread message in this thread. I cant take it anymore haha

Positive news indeed. Just got everything crossed all goes ok.

COC time, please come back safe!

The most important race of the day :highly_amused:

Predictably out paced over 2m.... completed.... Wahoo!! :devilish:

Ran on after the last to finish 2nd last.:highly_amused:

Good news for the COC backers. Given a lovely easy race and finished safe and sound

I'm thrilled to bits I honestly am. Knowing he's now had a run, I feel even more confident. I still haven't backed Tiger Roll haha

That'll do me

I've never watched the back of the field in a race so intensively as then. I didn't even bother to look or care about the horses in front or who won :highly_amused:

Just what we wanted

He ran exactly as we'd hoped. When you see the head on at the last, he was almost brought down.

Heart was in my mouth when I saw that.

What date was the "spin around" the course last season.... that is the next piece of the jigsaw...

Wasn’t it when there was a sale at Cheltenham? Mid February if I remember (quick google confirms this years sale is Feb 15th).

5/10 in the cross country trial at cheltenham. Noticeably tucked out the back and treated like a schooling session, made up a ton of ground towards the end like a good thing

I meant the non race ... think rowebot is right. Hopefully he has a spin around in a couple of weeks, not under rules

Jamie Codd after last year:

“He ran in January here and took a while to warm to it. He came back in February when the sales were on and he schooled really well, he also schooled well this morning and I thought he'd run a big race.”
