Nick Luck talked about Horse Herpes issue in Europe (show jumpers only at moment)

No idea if link as all French bar Easysland withdrawn

Its quite serious apparently and many horses died in Spain
 
Interestingly the money for Easysland has come on the exchanges over the past couple of days yet the bookmaker money was for Ajas (obviously majority are NRNB). Ajas kept being bigged up, which I can now assume was to keep Easysland a decent price.

I didn't think to mention it before because I expected something to firm up in this market a bit with Easysland anyway, as we got closer, even more so with the news about GE/Gigginstown/Tiger Roll.

All makes sense now.

The talking up of Ajas came from a preview where they literally spoke to the guy who rides him out every day..... why does there have to be some shady dealings behind everything?

I am more annoyed with the Racing Post. I spotted it was a N/R when looking at the card, nothing in the news section even now. Yet all the bookies new about it and the racing post just make it a N/R on the card. It's 2nd fav for a Cheltenham race, it's news so tell us not the bookies first. Rant over.
 
Easysland 12s with Ladbrokes to be the longest distance winner at festival, X Country winners have a good record in that department from memory.

To me I made of it that Ajas was put out there to keep Easysland price competitive on the exchange (which is where I had noticed the money come for him), I could be well wrong, it has been known, but I'm sceptical about a JP horse at the best of times. The fact Ajas was NRNB with most wouldn't have harmed too much either.

Of course, it may just be all genuine, but them just saying so wouldn't have me believe it anyway, so I guess it's a case of me believing what I want to in this instance :highly_amused:

The sceptic in me has certainly taken over :hopelessness::highly_amused:

If it wasn't for the fact it was two horses from the same trainer and the one benefitting was a JP horse I probably wouldn't have batted an eyelid :highly_amused:

This race is really falling apart. No Ajas by the looks of things. Tiger looks on the decline and the emotional win is enough not to have a bet. I'd have C&D winner Some Neck ahead of the next three in the market, comfortably, but he's a significantly bigger price. Potters Corner will carry 15lbs more then when 3rd to Kingswell Theatre in the trial and I simply don't think he will be good enough. Shady Operator doesn't interest me at all at 7/1. He's inexperienced, the time of that race at Punchestown was rubbish, and I don't make much of the form. Lord Du Mesnil is interesting and is taking support, but experience would be have to be a big worry. I think Some Neck is a really obvious bet. When all is said and done, winning experience around the banks at Cheltenham is invaluable, as is the ability to finish up the hill strongly. He's done both this campaign and I think 16/1 EW with B365 is a superb EW bet, definitely one for the EW acca's.
 
Some Neck is 40/1 to place here and the GN
