Cheltenham Wednesday Thread

I would have slightly different preferences in a few of these races but will do the Yankees for a bit of fun.

I didn't have much to choose from MG, was kinda limited. :(

I like the look of them LV. There are no guarantees in this game or we would all be millionairres :sorrow:

One of the things I like about these bets is that I'm putting on bets that I wouldn't neccessarily pick for myself, but are selections from other informed opinions, I will have my own pick multis running alongside.

Fair play to ye lads. The whole point of a discussion board should be to make you question your own opinions. Might not agree with you always ( or even a lot:devilish:) but been plenty posted to make you think over last few weeks. Keep her lit.

I totaly agree YH. It would actually help the judges if we knew the reason behind the debate because we may have missed something that could have contributed to the decisions.

There will always be debates and different opinions when selecting horses with odds of 8/1 or greater and from a small selection. Thats why I had to play it safe with a couple of them.

Wednesday's bets so far:

1:30 Tell us More 20/1 :(
2:05 Don Poli 5/1 & If In Doubt ew 25/1. I can only see 6 runners so taking If In Doubt ew now.
2:40 no bet yet. Hoping Dell Arca runs here
3:20 Champagne Fever 10/1 & Simply Ned ew 25/1
4:00 no bet yet
4:40 Arabian Revolution 12/1
5:15 Au Quart Du Tour 16/1.

Good luck guys for the Wednesday FJ Yankee. :encouragement:

One to note - A horse I fancy for the Cross Country is QUANTITATIVEEASING @9\1.
He was a 12L 2nd to Any Currency of level weights over 3.7 and tomorrow he gets 9lbs. What I like about this horse is he has never fell in his career so jumping should be sound. He seems to have improved this season and tomorrow's ground should suit, so is worth another shot in my book.

Barry is on the morning line. Met him after racing yesterday. He is VERY confident.

Vyta Du Roc @ 7/1
The Young Master @ 5/1
Hammersly Lake @ 16/1
Sprinter Sacre @ 10/3
Arabian Revolution @ 10/1

Ruby Tuesdays.
Barry Wednesdays ?

Sorry about yesterday's acca. Hopefully LR will get us back on track today.

Disappointed that Barry didn't tip up Sprinter Sacre with his charity bet on The Morning Line. A sign in itself especially as the public will look for all the help they can get.

Barry's not usually one for misplaced optimism, but he was overly sweet on Josses Hill and Vaniteux on the preview circuit. I found it quite telling that Ruby's not been scared to tip horses from other stables now that he's got Tuesday under his belt.

I'd be amazed if Champagne Fever isn't within 3 lengths of the winner. I think that a 3rd race in such a short turnaround for Sire De Grugy will snooker him.

1:30 - Nichols Canyon
2:05 - Don Poli
3:20 - Champagne Fever

Have a strong urge to back Pylonthepressure and he could absolutely bolt up.

A quite like the look of Lac Fontana @20\1 for the Coral Cup.
He has festival form beating the yesterdays most impressive Arctic Fire last year. With bowen on board claiming 5lbs Increases his chances.

Champagne Fever out.

I am happy to replace CF with Lac Fontana @18/1 for Coral Cup if everyone is ok with that.

Kings Palace - RSA
Lac Fontana - Coral Cup
Arabian Revolution - Fred Winter
Moon Racer - Bumper

It looks like plenty of backers think defeat is out of the question for Don Poli, I don't think I would take the current 13/8 for anything in this race, personally I think DP could get outpaced in this, he could be too far back to bring his stamina into play, we shall see.

Cheers LR will cover that

I stuck a few quid on Goodwood Mirage ew [5 places] at 12's, top rated on timeform and AP swerved two JP horses to ride him for Jonjo
