Cheltenham routine

Buses laid on to/from station.

It is way too far to walk from the station to the course

Get the bus - it's part of the experience

If you get away quickly after the last the bus service into town is excellent. They lay on loads of buses, traffic is minimal as they block off one of the roads just for buses

First time poster, long term viewer. Absolutely love this site and never signed up before as was (misinformed and stupidly) told you could only sign up at particular times of the year.

Anyway, delighted to be here and traveling over on Monday for Tues & Wed for the first time ever. Beyond excited.

Been a fan of Samcro since the October Punchestown win and cannot wait to see the Ballymore on Wednesday afternoon.

Will be in a few watering holes beginning on Monday through Weds, might see the majority of you around town!

Time of year when I'm very excited. Can not wait now. Can almost feel the Tuesday Roar before first race. Goosebumps galore always come Friday before. ;)

It's actually a very tough 3-4 days this now. Trying to keep myself busy as the waiting takes it toll!

This week is far from exciting; it’s nerve wracking. Every day another horse is announced as missing the festival and this year we have rain in Cheltenham to stress over as well

I agree in not enjoying these 3/4 days before. Sunday onwards is when the enjoyment kicks in, can get your head around the final decs then as well and see how everything slots in

I assume the decs for all Tuesday's races will be released Sunday?

I love this weekend. The anticipation for Tuesday and living next to the racecourse I can see all the Irish horses coming into the stables on Sunday.
Back in the day you was actually allowed in to see them unload from their boxes however security has now stopped this which is understandable but a shame.

I don’t know how anyone can love this weekend - one of the slowest and most nerve wracking of the entire year!! That being said the feeling of finishing work on the Friday before Cheltenham is superb

Completely agree, at least the option is there to spend all day in the pub tomorrow with the rugby.
I haven't had a decent nights sleep for a while, virtual paranoia that Buveur D'Air, Might Bite and Cause of Causes all pull out injured....

I've got a big bottle of Zubrowka, a freezer full of ice, and a couple cartons of Apple juice.

Mates coming round to play cards tomorrow, so will get hammered, and then spend all day Sunday rolling around in bed feeling sorry for myself :very_drunk:

All together??

It kind of feels a bit like the clam before the storm.... I am spending all day tomorrow just talking Cheltenham with a like-minded chap and I am really looking forward to it! WIll give me some clarity of my thoughts...

Also considering watching last years festival back with a few beers too .... what better way to distract the mind from this years festival :very_drunk:
