Cheltenham Handicap Shortlists

so was I.
eclair ran a promising race.
dallas might get a big penalty though, but got paid on that today.

Ben Dundee has the same form line too. And was buried in that graded race last time 141 So prob nov handicap chase with gun digger Kim Muir . But any race at 25s the shout

yep, had a bit of any race after kev got it priced on wh.
not convinced about ben dundee as that may be his level. but one or two bits of form make you think differently.

Is Gun Digger likely to go for the Kim Muir?

Nice enough run for storyteller..... strange running him but hopefully was there for a nice spin

How come you think it's strange running him?

Can't affect his hurdle mark, and he's shown to me he's in good form, not a grade 1 chaser but way, way ahead of his hurdles mark on every run this season.

He'll be going off the shortest priced horse in any handicap I'd imagine... Coral Cup the logical one.

archie made what I think was a valid point on Storyteller, and I hope it doesn't happen as I've had this in mind since Gordon told us last year it was in his mind.
But the UK handicapper could re rate him on account of his chase runs. Not sure what guidelines he has to go by.
He last ran in a hurdle in IRE off 142, and is 158 chase in IRE.
What's you best guess ?
I'd be chuffed with 148

Tower Bridge entered in Thurles over 2m on Thursday. That gets him a mark for something if he runs.

Cartwright -1---134

DDP- +7----137

Defi Bleu-1 ---135

Eclair Du Beaufeu +2 --132

Uradel +1 133

What sort of mark would Uradel get do we think in UK? Coral Cup has to be a fancy for me.

Dallas DP up to 137 means he's a pound higher than Delta after this race, but 2 pd lower than he was after Punchestown.

Uradel going to need some help from the handicapper:
Coral Cup bottom weight:
2018 137
2017 136
2016 140

County:
2018 133
2017 134
2016 138

Pipe:
2018 136
2017 135
2016 135

Whats the feeling on here for the Storyteller if they go Coral Cup, how likely do we think his chase mark is to influence his hurdle mark

I was under the impression that he is still rated 142 over hurdles. Not sure if the handicapper can do anything about that Billy.

He's 16lb below his chase rating, which is staggering.

Surely they can't use his chase mark at all? He'll be around 147, i don't really know how the Gb handicapper goes about it tbh.

On Uradel Billy i would say the handicapper won't give him much help at all....perhaps he'll need to run again

Yes he can use his discretion and take into account his chase mark, they obviously dont do that often but he can do should he wish. Just wondered what people thought

If he even puts him up 4/5 lbs hes still well in and won't be totally weighted out of it.....Handicapper can't go totally over the top on him,

I just cant see them letting him in on his current hurdle mark personally and i dont think they will put him up to his chase mark, but i could be wrong. Maybe 4/5lbs is what he will get.

If they put him up a couple of lbs to 146 looking at others high in the betting he would still look to be well in when you look at the rest of the market(imo)

Ballymoy - 153
Dortmund Park - 147
Getaway Trump - 142
Wonder Laish - 144 (expecting him to be dropped a bit though)
Jezki - 145 (possible rise coming)
Off You Go - 142 (rise coming)

It looks Like Uradel and Casko D’airy would need some help

Cracking Smart would interest me but at 150 he’s higher than I imagined

If the storyteller turns up for me he is a banker and I’ve never said or thought that about a handicap before
