If Glenloe had another entry and gets declared I'll cash out for the NH chase

I've already cashed out. It will take an injury or switch to OK Corral for Glenloe to line up in the NH Chase imo

I like the form of NOTWHATIAM this season, to outrun his 33/1 odds in the Pertemps Final. I’ve watched all five videos back from his races, and there’s not much to dislike about re
* liking the 3 mile trip
* putting up best RPR when eye catching 4th in Warwick qualifier baeaten around 4 lengths
* 135 official rating would probably have him as a lighter weight runner.
* His Cheltenham fall was 2 out when travelling well, and hoping it’s a one off.
* His modus operandi of starting at the rear of the field and coming through, may be a plan to see how good he is, and qualifying for this race, without revealing his full ability.

That’s the hopeful musings of someone holding a 33/1 ticket on him, anyway.

Harry Skelton has been slaughtered by the armchair jockeys on Twitter for his ride on Notwhatiam but I always think that betting in the Pertemps qualifiers should carry a health warning as how many are trying to win and how many are trying just to qualify.

My only reservation is his jumping as it’s very sketchy.

Too true Jackie. Ive been following a horse all season with this race in mind (Not Many Left) watching him in the Huntingdon qualifier thinking no way he'll try and win this race and guess what....................Health warning indeed.

Could be hard pushed to get the 3 runs for a handicap.

Personally had him down as a 4 mile candidate ever since his Cheltenham/Punchestown win but also think he's got a fair bit of class about him. Delta Work looks nailed on for the RSA at the moment but I think the other races are still up for grabs with Gigginstown. Not sure connections will have any target until they see how he comes out of today and build from there though. But at the same time I'm sure they'll just want a clear round for him today.

Yeah not ideal as would want him beat but youv'e got White moon and OTBS who both have plenty to prove too i'm hoping its a crawl and he gets outpaced by one of the others and mark doesn't change tbh.

Risky business though, might just be up to winning however it’s run. If they’re keen to get him another run in before the festival why not just pop him over hurdles?

After appearing to be struggling to go the early pace in the Grade 3 novice chase at Naas yesterday, was unfortunate to take a fall at the final fence when upsides the winner Ballyward. Was given an RPR rating of 145. Yesterday was also it’s 3rd race over fences.

Yeah I gave this horse a favourable mention on the Pertemps thread, he's one of very few of the current British qualifiers who interests me. I've held off for the time being because 135 does put him right on the cusp but he's the sort that the money will come flooding for if he looks like getting in. I've got a lot of time for the Skeltons when it comes to aiming one at a handicap.

Seems to have been well supported this morning too and whilst I wouldn't expect Kempton to be his preferred style I still fancy him to win or go very close. You can only think the RSA is very much in mind and to be fair you can't blame the owners for dreaming big as he looks a nice progressive horse. As much as it's easy for us to sit here pointing horses at races that suit our pocket, if you owned him you might have other ideas. Hopefully OTBS comes back to form today and Talkischeap is a few lengths back in a nice staying-on 2nd :highly_amused:

Yeah echo your thoughts Viking, as mentioned could of had a hurdle spin or run over an inedaqute trip etc , but yeah aim as high as possible if he was my own 100%.

Talkischeap jumped right at quite a few at Doncaster. Dont think the ultima would suit him personally, and there was a chance he'd go for the 4 miler, Alan King usually has one for there. I'd target him at the Whitbread if he were mine

What is it about the Ultima you don’t think will suit, TC2? He’s run 2 cracking races this season at a left-handed and galloping Newbury. The main difference between Newbury and Cheltenham is the undulations and I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s an unbalanced type.

didnt realise he didnt have an entry in the 4 miler. it would be the track putting me off more than anything, and not sure he'd be battle hardened enough for a race of this nature. it's a lot different running well at newbury with the long galloping straights than the old course at cheltenham. he could get beat today and the Kim muir could come into the equation, which would suit more imo. If he were to run well in one of the handicaps, Sandown would be where i'd aim him
