Cheltenham Gold Cup 2020

When you get to within 2 lengths of winning the Ladbrokes Trophy carrying top weight despite your jockey being under orders to stop you and with you running an extra furlong to the field then you know that you are dealing with a boss here.

It's great Tizzard allows EE's biggest fan to be privy of riding instructions:p

You should start a poll Elegant Escape VS ABP, who wins.......it's a really tricky vote that.

Elegant Escape have Yala Enki and got beat 9 lengths :applause:

Given he only beat Yala Enki 2 lengths of levels in the GC it’s tough to say he’s improved let alone the stone and a half he needs

EE versus allcomers :highly_amused:highly_amused:

Marmite discussion

ABP was rated 164 going into last years gold cup
The Champ is rated 164 going into this years gold cup.

Win the race get an inflated rating. Simple.

There is little between APB and the Champ. The Champ has the fighting spirit though and that is ultimately what will set them apart when everything falls into place on the big day assuming of course that APB manages to complete the course which you couldnt he certain of with his high fall percentage.

Can you please keep posts re EE in your own thread ET? You have nearly half as many pages there as the whole forum has here! Whilst nobody could question your passion or enthusiasm, another 3 pages have just been added here talking about EE - people want to have a sensible and varied conversation about 25+ potential runners, not find a thread dominated by just one horse. We know where to go for that :)

Can a moderator have a quiet word with him please. Thank you.

Moderator? Given the frequency of your EE specific posts it's perfectly reasonable to ask you post these in one place so as not to dilute the main forum. It was a polite request.

Dont worry mods I have dealt with him myself and put him on ignore. This is perfect as he makes posts that are planned to make me a react in a bad way. Everyones a winner. I cant see it, I cant possibly react. Perfect all round.

You remind me of Joe Goldberg from the TV series 'you' :applause:

This is your response to a reasonable request made politely. I'm shocked :highly_amused:

Anyway, back to the Gold Cup, Santini blue across the board today. I just couldn't have him in an out and out battle. I noticed ABP been cut even further. The more I look at the race the more I'm kicking myself for not backing ABP at 8/1 when I had the chance. It was so painfully obvious as the reigning champ that he should not be that price and now he's 7/2 and I missed it!

added real steel 290-1 0.5pt Bex Gold Cup.

One of only 31 entered and 1 of Willies four.
He may just benefit from the trip, and he won the novice handicap at punchestown in really good style giving weight away and the form has worked out well. Same race Kemboy won the year before.
Willie ran him in the bartlett too so probably fancies him for a trip.

He won his return race this season really well and earnt a 160 rating. Then ran ok behind min, and only half a length behind Percy after a mistake at the last too.
And he's aged 7. which is always a good sign.
And a French bred which looks a good thing to be these days (first three home last season ?)
worth a pop.
Should be favourite really :highly_amused:

The more I typed the more I liked

The more I read the more I liked. Going to see if I can get a ridiculously big price too

A pal of mine has been harping on about him for this since DR. Not 100% convinced but bloody hell at that price.

Just had a little nibble at 224.0

Real Steel is 5 wins and a place from 9 races at right handed tracks. He is 0 from 5 going left handed unplaced in all 5.
In 2 races at Cheltenham he has been beaten a total of 70 lengths.
He is unproven over the gold cup trip and a doubtful stayer.
He is more a grade 2 horse than a grade 1 horse. I doubt he will turn up at Cheltenham again and the Punchestown festival is where he would stand any chance.

I like that his name rhymes however and he has a good trainer.

Chris's Dream gets his Gold Cup entry, which makes me a happy happy.

The right handed things the main worry, but at the price i'll take a go myself.
