Anibale Fly is the most ridiculous figure I've seen.

It is a bit pointless, how they can say Anibale Fly and Un De Sceaux are within 1 lb is just mind boggling

I think that Anibale Fly has been a victim of the Gold Cup being overrated. If Native River became 176 and Might Bite 172, Anibale Fly at 167 is a fair consequence.

yep - 2 plugging on places in the gold cup and national and he's 167, not great handicapping that

I think there is a bias towards 3m horses over short distances aswell

Really interested to see what SB snip PP to later today when they go NRNB, he is already a ridiculous price as it is (4/1) without a run since March.

I don't see why he's not running tomorrow. Maybe there's a reason
If your original plan was the John durkan and pulled due to the ground. What's wrong with tomorrow's race.

Agree Scoob, I mean he has won on good ground before (the Pertemps) so I do not see the issue with another pull out. They are running out of time.

Will probably start with the Galmoy Hurdle.

Al Boum Photo impressive. Managed to sneak a bit more on at 33/1.

Probably chatting about him in the wrong thread - Al Boum Photo looked good and wasn't stopping.

14/1 NRNB with 365 now which is quite a cut from 33s

Presenting Percy form getting boosted again :devilish:

Grabbed 1pt e/w with Skynobet before the race finished, and had 1pt freebie with Lads before they cut, but not nrnb.

Earlier today Ruby said he would have finished 2nd in the RSA :devilish:

I don't doubt that really.

Monalee and Al Boum Photo are closely tied IMO.

Obviously I hope Presenting Percy is still ahead of them both.

No denying AB stamina though two points id make.

1 - Tramore is like racing round a goldfish bowl bit like Chester ,some horses like it some dont , dont know stats but id be surprised if its not a course for course specialists , and racing close to pace enables you to kick early before short run in like AB did.

2- To my eyes those fences looked mostly loooked like hurdles at best, so a slightly dodgy jumper like AB would have gained confidence very early doors. A nice placement by Willie , as he would of known . Be interesting to see how he progresses next time.

Doubt they could have asked for much more from ABP today.

I suspect that if the word 'good' appears anywhere in the going description, Presenting Percy will need more than 3m2f to be seen to best advantage. Being, to my eyes, much the most mature of last season's top novices, I'm not really expecting him to improve as much as some of the others. Maybe they'll consider the Irish National off top weight.

Percy will still win on good ground, He travels so well - but some of the others might last a bit longer on good ground I suppose

Latest BHA ratings:

173 Bristol De Mai
173 Clan Des Obeaux
173 Native River

170 Thistlecrack

169 Might Bite

Makes you think that the UK and Irish scales are, indeed, about 4lb different.

Unless you're called Penhill or owned by Bloomy, or both, then I'd be very concerned at any horse that hasn't been seen yet this season...

I don't disagree but the same is almost certainly true of Native River but they have both proved themselves around Cheltenham on quickish ground...
