He jumps straight. If you watch the RSA he was held up, behind a faller early, jumped and travelled into the race. Might Bite quickened from the front leaving him with no chance. Think he's matured nicely and a big player.

He'll be taken of his feet if he runs. He's never ran in a chase where they've gone the clip they do in a GC.

Ten lengths off Might Bite but he came and had a drink of my pint after the last. Maybe left handed isn't an issue then but Cheltenham is certainly a concern for me.

Might Bite was an exceptional novice, and as I said, it was Bellshill's first go at 3m over fences, he was then given time to progress, which he showed last season, and is now in his prime IMO. I don't think one run over fences at Cheltenham (as a novice) and finishing 3rd, is enough to write him off as not liking the course. I can't believe you would include his 2m runs as serious evidence against his Cheltenham form?

You think he's that slow?

Hes not quick at all, and deffinately not a natural jumper at pace when under pressure.
He's more of an our duke. Old fashioned stayer. If you like that sort then fair enough. But if he's still on His feet jumping at pace, he'll be a long way back turning in.

See your point. Just think he needs to be ridden prominently. If he doesn't get detached he'll see it out strong.

No Irish replays is annoying. Wanted to rewatch Bellshill beat Road To Respect.

Haha an over the tip rtr that just ran in an end to end gallop, war of attrition of a gold cup on soft. If you think that's there true running then Bellshill is a monster.

Bellshill tried to make all on heavy in the Irish National a few weeks earlier. Road To Respect was nowhere in the Gold Cup. Just not good enough and wont be again.

The Punchestown 2018 Gold Cup is on YouTube (full build up, race and race reaction), so you can re-watch till your hearts content.

Replay is from the 2nd last unless I'm looking at the wrong video...

Boopa, yes you are. Search on "Punchestown Gold Cup" and it's the first one returned in my list at around 32 mins long. Having watched it again I still have reservations about Bellshill and am considering laying my profit to date on him. I may leave it until his next run as I already have a 200 point green book on the GC ( following healthy back to lays with Kemboy and CDO) with potential 500 points plus upside with a few others including Bellshill, , SJ, and others.

I have reservations about all of them but I'm happy enough with 25/1 Bellshill and 33/1 ABP.

What are your reservations about Bellshill?

Good point by FFP i thought regarding the fact GC was very testing last year, given ground, perhaps worth dodging the majority that have run in it + been running throughout the year this year?

66's still with Henderson's friends @ Unibet!

Don't know who started that rumour but what a load of tosh, as per normal with Twitter.

I know, just saying. Someone was bound to notice the NRNB firms had him at 7/1, hence why I mentioned it came from Twitter

Sorry, wasn't a dig at you, just Twitter is laughable. Never forget the Min injury rumour before the Supreme, only for it to be the footballer who played for Tottenham with the same name :highly_amused::highly_amused:
