He's still my pick for the GC. Needs to be ridden aggressively and pushed into every fence.
The last 2 fences they go that pace for the last 2 miles of the gold cup. Make the same mistakes did at the slower pace and it's a hell of a job to get back into it.
Can't rule out him making a mistake. Could cost him the race...however he's one of the few horses you can say 100% will stay the trip. PRice is still fair based on that IMO
It'll be a negative if Power goes for Sizing John (Which is more likely).... who is actually going to be available?
It'd be very had for Robbie to get off the current GC horse. Not sure who would be in line to get the ride.....![]()
Hard to guess but looking over the field i'd say Davy could be in line for a run on Our Duke if Sizing John is (as is most likely I imagine) the chosen ride for Power
Harrington said: "I'm absolutely delighted. He was good and Robert said he really only started jumping over the last three. He loses his concentration, but he was much sharper today. He only starts concentrating when he goes quick, and you can't go too quick on that ground.
"He has a very high cruising speed and he'll concentrate all right at Cheltenham. When he goes that gear quicker, he's on the bridle and he can do anything. He wouldn't have liked that ground as it's horrible ground, and it's a good performance giving Presenting Percy 7lb.
"All being well, he'll go to the Gold Cup now and I won't have to do much with him, which is great. He had to come back and do that as you couldn't go without that race and he'll be sharper again."
Disagree with Jessica on any of that?
Is he not usually niggled along going that bit quicker like he was in the Flogas? Has a nice ew chance in the GC though. My thoughts are its between MB, SJ and Our duke/KV.

I don't think Our Duke jumps his fences quick enough to be a danger in the Gold Cup. Whoever's on board will have a job on there hands getting him into a nice rhythm. A couple of bad/slow jumps and he'll be in trouble.
