Cheltenham Festival Fake News Thread

Brilliant, make more people go to crowded bars !

To be fair, they've done this at cricket test matches for years, makes no difference, bars are open around the clock in town and all open on course at 10.30am, with the last race crossing the line at 5.35pm no-one is short of time if they choose to drink to excess....

I was expecting another Mullins thread ...

There has been a bit on twitter about this...

Cheltenham safer than any big event yet Jockey Club manages to get frontpage story in the Times implying a major behaviour problem. Shambles

I saw a good point made about the cost at the bars which is slightly related. They should round it to £5 per pint so time isn't wasted with change. £10 for 2. £20 for 4 ... no messing. You know exactly where you stand and the whole thing would run a lot smoother. I'd rather pay £5 than £4.80 haha

Perhaps the BHA should charge Jockey Club Racecourses with bringing racing into disrepute. Of the nine arrests one was for indecent exposure, one for voyeurism and another for burglary with two more being in the town centre. Maybe they should have listened to the local police: Reflecting on this year's festival, Superintendent Tony Godwin said: "There was a record-breaking amount of race-goers this year, but despite this minimal crime was reported at what was a relatively peaceful event."
