Cheltenham Bumper 2019

Abacadabras

"He’ll run in the Champion Bumper. I’m not saying he would have beaten Envoi Allen at Leopardstown last time, but he was coming at him when he ducked through the rail. It was just one of those things, it was almost certainly just greenness that led to him doing it. It was probably the first time he ever got a proper belt of a stick and he just ducked in away from it."

I'm going to keep banging the drum about this one until someone acknowledges :very_drunk: the price difference of 20 points between him and Envoi Allen, when he would have surely finished second or third on his second ever outing, is just daft

I took notice the first time, just kept quiet. I do like this one, and agree completely about the price difference, it's just not a race that interests me though. Backed Malone Road early one, but now that one is in the bin I only have small amounts on Eden Du Houx on the exchanges. I may go in nearer the time, but will wait to see what turns up first.

Looks very light on quality and talked up horses this year.
Aside from Envoi Allen.
After several cash outs I'm left with

Glory and Fortune 33-1
Meticulous 20-1 - quite fancy this if they run it.

But have just added a mare.

Santa Rossa at 25-1 NRNB

At back of my mind I've got the trainer saying cheltenham was not on agenda, but if anyone knows more then feel free.
The forms good, it's no bigger on exchange and they should really look at the race as it's not looking the strongest renewal ever.

Q - On the racing post podcast they said Tom Lacey was aiming Glory and Fortune at Aintree. Not sure if this has been confirmed anywhere but thought I'd mention it.

Joseph should be at Donnacha to ride Meticulous

The one thing about Abacadabras that would worry me is that he ran out when given a smack, big occasion like the bumper might not be what he wants. Big price though and looks like he has a big engine!

Cheers, I'd heard that but was going to leave it as the race looks weak and hope they have a re think. Mullins horse is a four yr old and kind of hope they'll see that and the rest and have a go, especially as he's got course form.

Can we assume Fury Road isn’t going to go here on the basis Elliot didn’t mention him and nor did Cheverly Park in the sporting life article?

He's a Gigginstown horse so highly unlikely to run in this.

Just been watching Meticulous last run vs Envoi Allen.
Jockey gets in bad position on bend and has to take a pull twice just as they're quickening, and envoi being ridden wide gets first run.
By time he sees daylight he's at least 6 lengths behind, he eventually starts to make ground as though he was unsure of his job and closes at the line.
He's massive value comparitively, even though envoi looks a sound stayer and ran wide the whole way.
It'll be who stays best up the hill. Or something else completely obviously.
backed it again anyway 4pts each way.

Totally agree and took the 25/1 right after his run in the DRF. He was really weak on the exchanges so I was starting to assume he wouldn't be coming here.

I still haven't had the winner of this race though, and have been trying for 20 odd years.

I backed him 25s NRNB on 14th Feb... during the Elliott twitter Q&A ... if that makes you feel better :p

Exact same price now...

He's actually shorter than Meticulous with over half the firms...

Only interested in best prices though :)

Just mean he's the same price now with 365 as he was when I backed him a week ago.

...Fury Road entered up again on Saturday. I live in hope.

Envoi Allen for this a while ago at 33's, fingers crossed!!

...given its winning form and trainer, it could go off single figure price if it turns up.
