Cheltenham Bumper 2019

I've cashed out my single on Energumene at 50s but have a nice treble with Tiger roll and Penhill so wondering if I should cash that or not.

I know it's already been discussed and he's unlikely to go but does Willie have any history of throwing one into the Bumper without a run?

No mention from Gordon’s yesterday was there?

Phew, can't believe FR is actually running, gives me hope we will still him at the festival. Needs to win well in a poor field.

Not eligible without a run so cash out if it’s antepost sharpish

Anyone on Blackbow for the bumper? He'd be an interesting runner in this

If there is any sort of market move or positive preview vibes then I would but until then I won’t be touching him

....not sure if that win was sufficient for Fury Road to take its chance here.

I think they've said he definitely won't go.... one for Punchestown later in the season.

Memory, not fact.

....40-1 influencing my opinion but given the owner it has to be a doubtful runner. Never mind.

As much as I want him to go, he already looks like 2.4 to 3 is what he wants.

He's 25/1 NRNB if you fancied him?

If I could get 14/1 NRNB or there were any vibes he were to run I would be adding him. But happy to leave at single figures.

He wasn't a superstar bumper horse and not made for such races last year and found a few too good at the major Spring festivals. But he's got last years experience, which will be more than many with how this season has gone. And importantly for me bar Acey Milan being infront, he only had his own stable mates infront of him last season, otherwise he was the best of the bumper horses in Ireland and the UK in 4 runs.

So if you think last years crop of bumper horses were better? (I think Mullins bumper horses last year were better than Blue Sarri) then he would have a chance? The very best bar Envoi Allen would appear not to be going? (Malone Road inj, Andy Dufresne, Fury Road etc)

Elliott on FR

Lisa said the further he went the better he went. He’ll probably have one more run this season, maybe back here at Easter, and then go over hurdles next season

...cheers Boopa, doesn’t appear Festival bound.

Why was a Acey Milan being in front of him a freak result? He went off fav.

Shows how much attention I pay to the bumper. Completely forgot Acey Milan was fav that day. Recency bias made me think he was 'just another runner'

Haha he has been pretty useless this season to be fair!

Been having a look at this race today, and the mares in particular. The quality in training is obviously increasing since the introduction of the mares races making their allowance even more valuable in races like this, which may be evidenced by their recent success.

Anyone have any strong opinions on Santa Rossa or The Glancing Queen? Santa Rossa impressed me winning a grade 2 last time & the glancing queen has some useful course form beating a couple of subsequent winners. Both available at 25/1.

Paul Nolan is looking forward to seeing Latest Exhibition bid for Cheltenham Festival glory in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper.

Runner-up on his racecourse debut at Limerick in December, the six-year-old went one better in impressive style at Naas last month to earn himself a trip across the Irish Sea.

The son of Oscar is a 33-1 shot for his Festival assignment, but Nolan believes he could outrun those odds.

“Latest Exhibition won well at Naas and hopefully he’ll go to Cheltenham. He’s sound and well and hopefully will give a good account of himself,” said the Enniscorthy-based trainer.

“He galloped through the line very well. He’s a six-year-old, so it shouldn’t faze him and hopefully he’ll run a respectable race.”
