Cheltenham Bumper 2019

Yep, having said definitely won;t run at cheltenham.
It's about turn time .
Annoying as i cashed it out months back.

Same here. This could be the cash out that does me.

Saying that, I wasnt that impressed today.

No, neither was I.
The O'brien horse would beat it next time, actually also backed that early this season and cashed that, after it got beat in a slowly run race.
Meticulous. awaiting for it back in the market and will back for second time.

Sky 20-1 meticulous, nrnb taken.

Gordon has said Envoi will go the festival. Very good news so my bet is very much alive. Whether he will win I don't know but hes game and that's an obvious plus.

I thankfully had left the cash out in case he shortened again today

In the same boat with cashing out on Envoi Allen. Very annoying but I won't be rushing around to try and get him onside again.
Definitely more workmanlike today but I think that was a fair performance still upped in grade. Still very raw though and emphasises the cliche 'what he does over bumpers is a bonus'. Jamie Codd said

we've only seen a quarter of what is to come with this horse.

And pretty sure that'll be seen over a fence. So again annoying to not have him onside anymore but for as much talent as he has in potential, could easily see him beat in March here so the short prices can't interest me now

I'm also in the not impressed with Envoi Allen camp. Hugely relieved that he won today as he was part of my multiple, but I was sweating up the run in and I wont be going in for Cheltenham. He had a hard race today too. I thought Meticulous looked the horse to take out of the race today and he wasn't ridden like today was the day. I think EA is overly hyped and not even as good as Andy Dufresne

Ive heard Elliott's Fury Road is still very highly thought of.

He's due out again on Thursday in Thurles where Mullin's Amen Corner (Masters Syndicate, Agusta Kate) also makes its debut.

Firstly thought my 33/1 Envoi allen was dead and gone months ago, after hearing Gordys comments, so it was a VERY nice surprise for him to say that they are now planning on running him at Chelt.
Read a few on here a few saying that they werent that impressed and the runner up will beat him next time. Jesus I wouldnt be sure of that, for a start next time they meet they are off levels, Envoi also raced 4 wide and was given a pretty strange ride by Jamie, maybe he didnt want it to be a jog and sprint and get tapped for a bit of toe, Im really not sure if the runner up would of ever got passed the winner (I accept the runner up maybe looked a little green when he was asked for his effort). Just hope they both go to chelt and we can find out, but personally I couldnt of been happier with that.

Agree with all of that, he was as game as a pebble and kept finding. He has a live chance. I do like Andy D as well so happy with that pair and course winner Glory and Fortune should he turn up as well.

...Fury Road is entered to run on Thursday, it has an easy victory over El Barra in an Irish ptp on its CV. Given the ownership, there is plenty of doubt about it turning up at the Festival but i’ve had a very small interest @ 40-1 in case it does.

Edit; just noticed Zipiter mentions it above.

Quite impressed with Santa Rossa yesterday in the Mares Bumper. This is a key race for the festival, as Mares do rather well.

She is a good mare indeed.

Bit early to be calling it a key race. This race only turned into a mares only race recently- below are the winners of the race. Not a key race just yet!

Slight overstatement on my part. I should have said Mares have a very good record in the Champion Bumper. Although I do see 1 fez Bumper winner in that list, which I backed. :devilish:

I am still banging the drum for Paul Nicholls ASK FOR GLORY for this. I’ve had my fingers crossed for over a month that he got a run in the Newbury Bumper on Betfair Hurdle day, and he has an entry, and is some way clear on RPR’s. He won in Soft ground on his Chepstow debut, so the change to softer ground this week shouldn’t inconvenience him. Hoping for an impressive win, and the trainer confirming that all roads lead to the last race on Wednesday at the Festival.

The form of the race hasn't been tested yet - only 1 runner of the 7 rivals he faced has had a run since, (Born To Sting who was 6/8) - and he came 14th of 16 beaten 68L by Howling Milan

Doesn't prove he's not good either, just impossible to know where he is?

Any news Energumene?
Looking doubtful, disappointing, especially after Lacey’s comments.
