Cheltenham Bumper 2019

I'd imagine most have cashed out already.

But I think if Mt Leinster runs on saturday then he's not eligible to run at cheltenham.

Just in case someone's not aware.

It's no more than 4 runs under rules so he'll still be eligible. Probably not good enough though.

Weatherbys Champion Bumper
Grade 1, £75,000 total prize fund. 5.30pm, Wednesday, March 14, two miles and half a furlong (2m 87yds). For four,
five and six-year-olds only which have not run under any recognised Rules of Racing, except National Hunt Flat races, Irish
National Hunt Flat races or French AQPS races. Horses are not to have run in more than four National Hunt Flat races and,
before February 27, must have been placed first, second, third or fourth in such a race. Weights: 4-y-o: 10st 11lb, 5-y-o
and 6-y-o: 11st 5lb, fillies and mares allowance 7lb. Entries closed February 27, entries revealed February 28 (31 entries),
six-day confirmation stage March 8, final declaration stage 10.00am, March 12. Maximum 24 runners.
 
Just to add, although the cut-off date is near the end of February, you can probably discount any of Willie's newcomers that haven't run by the 17th. He believes they need the best part of 4 weeks recovery after a first run.

More than 4.... DRF would be his 4th so surely he is eligible still?

Really interesting Archie. Can I ask if that relates to just his bumper horses or as a whole?

I only heard it about the bumper horses but you could see the same logic applying to unraced novice hurdlers.
 
Did anyone else catch Gordon say Envoi Allen is being put away for the season after this weekend?

DRF has always been the pland.

I've just done the same was holding off but with him running tomorrow that'll be it this season. Definitely one for next year though possibly the Ballymore.
 
Gordon has said Envoi will go the festival. Very good news so my bet is very much alive. Whether he will win I don't know but hes game and that's an obvious plus.
 
Yep, having said definitely won;t run at cheltenham.
It's about turn time .
Annoying as i cashed it out months back.

I was looking to cashout but the bet was with corals at 20s. Also got him any race.
 
Abacadabras running a nice race there before he went out. Definitely better than a 40/1 shot
