I guess it makes perfect sense to not reveal the extent of ones punting, but as DeeBee says it would be great to hear of someone landing a big one

Coney is in JLT - with Buveur Dair moving to Champion I think it more likely he goes here now. Might not have stayed LTO and still a young horse.

I've backed Campeador for the county hurdle a few weeks ago. Just a word of warning though - I'm told he was given a mark of 155 when entered over here just before Christmas.

I didn't realise he was rated that high when I placed the bet. Mark Howard quoted 148 on the half term report but that is his Irish mark.
 
^ Phil Smith has a special tax on Gordon's handicappers.
 
Campeador was given 155 when entered at Ascot in December, in the race won by Brain Power. Smith seems to just give Elliot horses a mark he think they can't win off rather than on what they have actually achieved, it's ridiculous.
 
You're right, it is ridiculous - I think he'll give himself a pat on the back of Gordon doesn't win a handicap at the festival.

Campeador ran off 141 in last season's Fred Winter ( a race that hasn't worked out particularly well) and will now be running off 155 without having won a race.
 
Bet365 are NRNB all races I think!
 
He won't change his approach until the Irish stop hoovering up the handicaps.
He clearly thinks the Irish 'capper is incompetent or that Irish trainers are so good at hiding their horses abilities, and to be fair up to now he's not been wrong...

The each way 4-fold on SkyBet would be approx 15/1 for the place part at their current odds and not much more with any other bookmakers.

I'm a big fan of SkyBets RequestaBet and actually think they tend to over price these requests compared to the odds that are currently offered. The Place only aspect of it also appeals too

So on that note...a Forum #RequestaBet?? :devilish:
