Champion Hurdle 2020

She isn't rated 137, the rating when looking horses form up is what they were rated going into the race. Others will know her new rating. However it does annoy me that when looking up a horse there current rating isn't easy to come by.

Ok cheers Taylor

Apologies for my misleading post. I wasn't suggesting Pentland is good value at current prices or that anyone should be rushing out to back him. I'm new to the forum and was just speaking from a NH fan perspective rather than a betting perspective. People don't appear to like the horse full stop.

I was just making the point that that he's still a young horse with massive potential and could be a real champion of the future. I accept the points about Ballyandy and that he'd need to be beating him easily. But the ground will be better in Cheltenham - was described as heavy in Haydock and on good to soft in Cheltenham, I'd be surprised if Ballyandy got close to him. All that said, I'm living in hope more than confidence for this years renewal.

One thing I was surprised to see when I did a bit of research just now was that the current favorite Epetante is rated just 137. Very surprised at that and I know she gets the 7 pound allowance.

:encouragement: Fair enough... I follow.

What’s the news on saldier will he be fit for Cheltenham?

Last update I saw was from Patrick Mullins, saying he was back doing work, doing well and possibly would go straight there.

Probably a week or so ago?

I agree the price of Pentland Hills is too short and using form with Ballyandy as a guide I think Epatante’s price is awful as well.
I think if we had a decent ground festival there wouldn’t be much between PH and Epatante

I'm not that far off backing him at 10/1 NRNB

2 races away from checking though

Makes perfect sense. Arguably his best performance last season was at the festival. Bound to get some give in the ground on day one without natures helping also, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I don't remember the serious hurdling errors last season (must have been watching something else), so not sure where they have suddenly come from. He's better than that IMO.

I’m totally against epatante envoi Allen is going ballymore can’t have pentland hills for me it’s between 3 honeysuckle saldier and klassical dream if honeysuckle is beaten at DRF wont go Klassical dream E/W bet to nothing at 10’s mite just be a horse that comes alive at Cheltenham totally biased tho I’ve backed him throughout the season and may have to a nibble @ 10’s even tho the terrible performances

Also thrown him in a 110/1 ew double with the forums favourite horse, Column of Fire...

Can't see him running or Honey for that matter .The ground will be too quick . They are already watering the Chase course which isn't a good sign. I'm beginning to think the idea of the Stayers could become reality.

Isn't he too mental for a Stayers currently?

You are like a broken record :mad-new:

...25-1 to win the Irish Champion Hurdle and Champion Hurdle in PP specials (to win at DRF and Cheltenham).

You know it makes sense though

I've replied to you each time with the above, and each time you ignore the fact he looks crazy. Wouldn't be sure a mile extra will sort anything. Even with the ground.

I very much doubt Leopardstown will allow the ground to be like it was last year. If they do they are in danger of making their new "super meeting" look a joke.
