I won't see it, as she'll be sauntering clear in a race nobody cares about. And has no relevance to any other race than the mares hurdle .
iv already got my bet in that.

Been in Dreamland.
2019 champion hurdle result.
1. Laurina
2. Apples Jade
3. Brain Power.

Don't have sleepless nights

1. If The Cap Fit's
2. Supasundae
3. Apples Jade

Which thread is this?

She could win by 40L and it wouldn't interest me. There's nothing there that wouldn't be tailed off in a CH. And its getting boring now the placement if her and the hyoe around beating trees. But we'll still get the she's a machine chat. When she beats a few bang average mares on soft.

Some of us are old enough to remember similar quotes on other forums about a certain Annie Power.

If you look on the other forum, same username. to the year she won. And I don't mind after timing as there's proof. I had £7 on her at 999.0

Well done. Nice bet.
I wasn't referring to you, scoob. But in that case I'm sure you remember the vitriolic abuse that certain posters aimed at Willie and Annie. As always with these things, those who have fancy prices about Laurina are understandably more enthusiastic about her potential than those who haven't. I just don't think it's fair to ridicule their opinion when, in truth, none of us know just how good or bad she could be.

There was alot of stick. Mainly pocket talk as he brought her in when a lot of lads were seemingly looking in a good position having the big priced ones. Ie arctic fire and identity thief suddenly go very short, and they poss thought they were home and hosed
She's the best winner of the CH iv seen. And was there to see it.

Bet you were singing on the bus with me.

Well there was once... till it all got nasty and pathetic

They called me and scooby names behind our backs.

I'm still not over it.

:highly_amused:

Bet you were singing on the bus with me.

Was a sour taste despite backing her, as the Faugheen / Annie Power double was the staple of my ante post that year.

She was odds against for the Mares that year. Incredible

As I said before Annie Power was a proven commodity throughout her whole career

You can’t compare the two

As I said before Annie Power was a proven commodity throughout her whole career

You can’t compare the two

She (annie) was not a proven commodity or champion hurdle horse after her first race or even her first season, so that's wrong.
She proved her level of ability over her full career.

Obviously cannot compare the two just now, but I believe the original comments were with regards to people dismissing Laurina simply because all she's beat is average mares, which was often thrown at AP early in her 'career'.

The point Laurina backers would surely make is of course she needs to prove herself, but she hasn't had the chance yet, so it's potentially folly to dismiss her ability, especially given the style she's shown so far and her connections.

Or it may subsequently prove to be correct to dismiss her. (Laurina layers)

There is no right or wrong answer just now.
It's just down to each punters logical thoughts and vision to see the inate ability in a given horse, or not. Or whether they missed big prices or:devilish: not.

History shows that race horses generally improve over time so to dismiss a horses chances on whom they beat last time (in a lower class), as they then go on to step up in grade each race would be silly.

We have to back potential or factor it into our thinking almost every time we make a bet.

Laurina has great potential no doubt in my mind.
To what level, remains to be seen, and she needs to be trained well and stay fit and well to fulfill it.

In January of Annie Powers second season she had beaten Zarkander (coming of an Aintree Hurdle win and a mid 160 horse) twice by 5+ lengths both times.

There was a question mark about her going up to 3m for the first time but not about her class

moot point at best.

Just in response to the comment saying people threw the same things at AP about just beating average mares. By this time in the calendar that wasn’t true.

I’m sure Laurinas price will be cut into 4/1 or 3/1 NRNB thanks to her proving she still has a pulse. I’ll be more interested in her Dublin race, I couldn’t bring myself to backing her if she’s just backed up twice in nothing races. Ignoring the mares aspect of it, we all saw how BDA was undercooked after facing nothing last year

She should be running in the Arkle and I should be retired.

Her price is too short quite clearly and any further cuts if she wins saturday would be overly cautious on behalf of the bookies.
But it's where we're at - as nothing obvious has shown up yet. Just 2 horses (sharjah and verdana) have looked improved and they were barely considered 2 months back. So many are still unconvinced.
None of that either improves or disproves her chances of winning in March. Just makes her hard to back for now.

I reckon if you're a gambler and haven't backed her already then there's not a lot she can do to convince anyone anyway and if she does then she'll be too short anyway. Shes' done nothing this season and is already too short.
