Willies already started with Laurina “Her owners are keen to go the Champion Hurdle route with her but it might be more realistic to aim her at the Grade 1 Mares race at the festival”

Standard. She will go to the race she is most likely to win which is the Mares race.

Anyone know when Racing Post visited Willie's yard for the stable tour ?
Was it two or three weeks back ? or more recent than that ?

The yard visit was on October 31st so 2 and a half weeks back. Then they'll have got updated quotes since then on certain horses who've ran since

They visited for filming about 2 weeks ago, but all the quotes seem to have been updated for the runners we have seen since. Certainly a change of tone about Laurina.

Yep, I know Willie likes to muse away, and it's dangerous to read too much into stand alone quotes by most people.
But this sounds like something's happened or he's seen evidence to suggest the champion hurdle is a little ambitious.
Not a lot's happened on the racecourse to be fair for anything to cause doubt (maybe she's worked with something that's ran),
But it's the racecourse that matters and she has yet to show if she's improved from last year on the track so we'll see, when we see, I suppose.

Hopefully we see her this week at Ascot!

I wouldn't read into his quotes at all- to be honest i think even a few of them are mis-quotes...

I’m in the she needs to prove she can handle the step out camp, but wouldn’t read too much into it if they were either way at this stage. Perhaps he thinks the media hype was a little overblown and is trying to dampen expectations.

Fingers crossed she does turn up at Ascot, see they have reopened the race, suggesting not many have entered...

Fightning Fifth odds

Buveur D'air 4/5
Samcro 9/4
Summerville Boy 9/2
10/1 bar the rest (incliuding Apple's Jade, ha?!)

Do people think that is right? The Samcro CH backers must be mad-keen at that price?

Not particularly as I don’t think he will turn up!

If it was on the day I would take it

I’d want 6/4 Samcro even turns up.

Did I miss something? Elliott said that is where he'll go didn't he? Ruled out the Hattons Grace?

Where do you think he'll be going?

He has taken Apples Jade there in the past so it wouldn't surprise me if they went.

The Hattons Grace or possibly the International hurdle at Cheltenham?

I thought he said on TV to Gary O'Brien though that they wouldn't be going to the Hatton's Grace with him... and the Fighting Fifth was the plan.

I'm so disappointed, I thought this was a near enough done deal! :(

If I was pricing it up, I’d say it’s 15/8 Fighting Fifth and 4/11 Hattons Grace

Looks like a good amount of rain expected, putting some good weight behind him going to newcastle
