Champion Bumper 2020

I thought panic attack was going to run in the aintree bumper

Just reporting the vibe in the room Kev. I won a raffle prize so I’m more than happy. Interesting quotes for certain horses not posted, I’ll put up on the preview thread at some point over next 48hrs :encouragement:

:highly_amused:

Well when you do post it, make sure it's confidently & with clarity

We can take from the exchanges as expected Farouk won't travel I think

I thought it was funnier with Casey didn't even sound confident she'd beat their third horse in here....five bar brian...

For all it needs taken with a pinch of salt. Sounds like they spent an absolute bomb on her too.

Casey also said that one of Willies owners put a fairly chunky bid on her and was blown away by the offer from England.

Update from PIPE and looks likes she is going!

....as said with confidence & clarity by connections last night lol :highly_amused:

I also noted down that the Skeltons rank Third Time Lucki as their best work horse & think it’s got a decent chance. I’m in the Ferny camp at big prices & won’t be playing anything else until the day if anything at all....sharing for anyone else interested...

...I’m in the Third Time Lucki camp. Another worth a mention is Fergal O’Brien’s Ask a Honey Bee, he seemed particularly keen on his bumper horse when interviewed on ATR.

Mullins on bumper

He said: "We were delighted with Appreciate It's win at Leopardstown last time when he won a Grade 2 easily. He has a very high cruising speed which should be a big plus in this race.
"Ferny Hollow earned his place in the line-up when coming good at Fairyhouse on his third start and Five Bar Brian, who won on his first start for us, will take his chance and should be capable of improvement."

Envoi Allen was given a BHA mark of 127 for his bumper runs in Ireland before the festival.

131 - Appreciate It

130 - Israel Champ & Ocean Wild

127 - Third Time Lucki

124 - Adrimel, Ask A Honey Bee, Ferny Hollow & The Glancing Queen

The rest 123 or below.

Seems a bit wild to me.

Handicappers love horses who come there tanking and put serious daylight between horses, Envoi isn't that kind of horse, he's a tough genuine battling horse who gets the job done.
Not dissimilar to the handicappers assessment of Altior and Cyrname...

His speed figures were better than Appreciate It however.

Well yes i'd say his Leopardstown win looks better than Envoi's did.

More looking at the ones in below him like third time lucki!

surely if the Glancing Queen can replicate her form from last year it puts her right in there, 5th in the race last year and then won the Aintree bumper beating mares novice favourite Minelle Melody quite easily, the horses that finished ahead of her at cheltenham (Envoi, Blue Sari, Aba and Thyme Hill) all have leading chances in their respective races bar Blue Sari..........25/1 is way too big IMO

Yeah, I agree.

I've taken 22/1 NRNB though

I did suggest a few days ago that was the best form on offer. Probably by a margin. Just a surprise until today there has been no market support. She could go off 10/1.

Yeah I was holding off until she got cut so I didn't have to back her I'd just claim I missed the price.

Couldn't last any longer :highly_amused:

Not concerned about glancing queen whatsoever.
Think it's got very little chance, first time up from this stable, and I think there's some decent Irish bumper horses coming over.
Just my opinion, on the table.
I don't need convincing or a discussion on the matter. I'm well aware of the form.
If anyone fancies it then that's cool.
And if it runs it's got a chance.
Just not for me.
