Champion Bumper 2020

Backed Eskylane for this @ 20/1 ew NRNB with Skybet.
He broke his duck at the 5th time of asking as a ptp horse and transferred to GE.
On his first bumper run he came 2nd to Assemble beaten 1/4l, in 3rd was Appreciate It 2 1/4l back in 3rd (ran green)
Assemble wasted no time and went hurdling next time out, and won it over 2 1/2 ml. RPR 144. he was then upped to G1 and finished 10l behind Latest Exhibition @ Leopardstown.
We know what Appreciate has done since!
Eskylane ran again on January 18th and won easily (new owner). "we wont do much more with, maybe one more run in a bumper" GE usual trainer BS. Of course that was before Appreciate It bolted up in the G1 bumper trial at Leopardstown. If he runs at Cheltenham he will be a lot less than 20/1 and if he doesn't you get your money back.

Was really keen to see how he fared with the headgear. Could have made a huge difference.
 
Any word on Farouk D'Alene?

Was hoping for another entry prior to the festival. Will he even turn up?
 
Ballyadam is back with an entry in Navan 5.05pm Sunday, 2M.
No Champion Bumper 'top of the market' entries are entered for this race.
 
Energumene is entered at Navan on Sunday in a maiden hurdle :dejection:
 
Cant say this has been my strongest race over the years.....but been trawling through for some NRNB value and found a couple of Mullins ones at long odds might be worth a dabble

- Stattler 40s
- Five bar Brian 25s

Given the connections, assume if they run, that won't go off this big....and often not the first string Mullins that has won it

Its a lottery race, but just a couple ideas

I don't think so no, but would find it highly unlikely now, given his defeat on debut and a lack of an entry after this. Also the emergence of Appreciate It would have made it doubtful, as unlikely WPM would run two for the same connections in this.

I think he pretty much confirmed it himself when he got ran over on his racecourse debut. After that it was just case of some wanting to cling on to not very much.

Me neither but I've somehow managed to back four already !
All with NRNB insurance so I'm not concerned but definitely time to ignore this race for three weeks until we have half a chance of guessing who will be on the boat/van (though I'm more interested in boats for this)....

If you disagree with my comments fine but passing comments like that about anyone you don't know is a little bit daft. It isn't even factually correct.

Just because some people may try very hard to be funny - posting emojis all the time - doesn't actually make them funny.

This is a horse racing forum. It should about provoking debate, not just agreeing with everyone else. If that equals grumpy in your book then too bad. The alternative is you just end up with a clique. That's the biggest problem with any forum.

If I think you come across grumpy, then it's because of the comments your making. I don't feel they are adding to the forum, in fact the specific one I quoted I feel was trying to antagonise.

There is a difference between a clique and a group.

This sounds very like someone trying to be slightly toned down......

Just don't mention that you think Not So Sleepy at 20/1 is a poor price, he takes it badly...
