Ballymore (Previously Neptune) Novice Hurdle 2018

Scoobs thanks for flagging the very real possibility of ND still coming here and putting the breaks on me getting further stuck into Vinndication w/o Samcro.

Now that looks to be the case I've cashed out 1 point on Samcro (my only point with Bet 365) for 6.8 points profit and had 2.5 points on Next Destination at 8s with boyles (will happily lose the 2.5 points if there is a late switch). Will also have my Skybet free bet on ND and might balance the book up further between these 2 before the race. Can't have Samcro now at odds on.

Forgetting the betting if these 2 line up alongside OTBS and Vinndicatioon we are on for one of the races of the Festival.

Funny how everyone kept thinking Samcro would scare a lot of runners away but instead this looks like being by far the strongest Novice Hurdle this year

I have a large cash out offer from 365 for ND for AB would you recommend cashing out or let it run a while longer and hope willie changes mind again?

Certainly looks a very good race in prospect for the neutral.
What ever the result I'm sure i will enjoy watching the race.

Only you can decide that one. Workout the cashout and how much you would lose by transferring it to nrnb for the bartlett .

I have to say I expect a late switch and Next Destination to go Albert Bartlett (and DDG to come here.... )

It could easily happen. I wouldn't be backing any Mullins novice on the back of todays comments without the nrnb concession.

I'll try and stop myself fuelling any conversation about it to be honest... role on the handicaps!

Can't help myself....

Next Destination (Ballymore Novices' Hurdle)

I think he will go to the Ballymore along with Real Steel. Samcro looks an Irish banker but we have to run something!

Not as keen as you scooby :p

I jest... he wouldn't give up the opportunity of being the under dog!

I'm probably overthinking with too much time on my hands but i'm still worried about Samcro. He'd be such a good winner for me that i've got it into my head that he still has a lot to prove. It's an unknown that he handles the track, and it's also an unknown that he handles genuine good spring ground. So i'm looking what might give him most to do.

I haven't got Next Destination covered for this race but think Samcro will have him covered (with similar ground worries for ND).

On The Blind Side I have covered but don't particularly like his form or profile for this and don't see him winning.

Black Op I like but again think he'd need it soft to show his best, so the one I have landed on is Ok Corral (already have a bit on him any race). With Henderson indicating he'll likely go here I think 33s is way overpriced. We know he handles the ground, he looks to have retained all his ability (with the promise as well of more to come), and if Yorkhill is deemed to be a champion hurdle horse (or goes well) then a 2 length defeat by him back in 2015 shows a level of form that is surely good enough to challenge

Where did Henderson hunt Ok corral would come here?

I’ve assumed he would head for a handicap and written off the peanuts I have on at 200.0+

Well I just double checked and I actually only backed him for the Supreme

Would be a potential e/w play for some value regardless

Ok Corral is 25/1 with Betfair in the Without Samcro market.... but it isn't NRNB
20/1 with PP which is NRNB.

Doesn't have win claims so I'd look at that if I knew he was coming here (which you said is in the stable tour)?

I’ve had a nibble at 25s but not much. I think if there is some soft in the going (which is probably more likely than not) then Samcro is nailed on. Just wanted some back up at a decent price if good ground

Was looking into why On the Blind Side was drifting on Betfair and found this tweet from the owners son yesterday:
“Had some physio on a muscle but seems fine. Did 3x canters this morning and steps up work again on Saturday”

Bit harsh on Scudamore. Who's he riding?
