Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2020

Did anyone watch the 2.50 at Nass? If so how did Longhouse Poet run like?

Despite the loss I’m going to take some positives from the race:

1.) The winner is likely to be a good horse and was entered in a grade one last season. The winner also had the benefit of hurdling experience from last season.
2.) Longhouse Poet pulled 13l clear of the third horse who brought decent bumper form into the race.
3.) The soft/heavy going would not have been in his favour.
4.) Martin Brassil has had one winner in nineteen runners this season so the stable are hardly red hot.

Andy Dufresne - jumps like a bunny. Really impressive.

That’s an absolutely incredible performance from Andy Dufresne. Ballymore hotting up

Covered my Ballymore bet with a little on the AB at 16/1. I'll see what GE says.

14/1 is a fair price after that.... would be shorter if Elliott didn't have the fav perhaps?

Looked too good/classy to my eye F-M
For the bartlett, more likely the other two novice races. depending on how he juggles them if they all get there.

Thought I had a nice one at 25s single and also in a trixie... Just realised had backed for the supreme with no cash out.....Doh

I agree, far too classy for the AB, has to be this race for me despite EA probably ending up here as well. I was very very impressed

Sounds like Andy Dufresne is going to clash with Envoi Allen.

Dead Heat hopefully :highly_amused:

I have nothing to back this expect personal opinion but I think JP will make the call and choose Blue Sari for Supreme, Dluaro for Ballymore and Andy Dufresne for AB.

Way too early to be that straight forward this far out in my ever so humble opinion TKP

Andy Dufresne looked smart in his Bumper in January, and in his PTP before that. Now he looks incredibly smart on his hurdles debut.

JP owned, I would assess his race at the Festival (assuming all goes well) would be the Ballymore. Irish-breds (Irish Bumper/PTP winners) have a great record in the race. French breds tend to have a good record in the Supreme, and I have doubled Envoi Allen 12/1 Supreme, with Andy Dufresne 25/1 Ballymore, and had singles on both at those prices, plus extra 20/1 AD for Ballymore.
I am not 100% certain to predict the future though, but that’s why the double pays 337/1.

Backed him with Hills yesterday at 25/1 and doubled him with EA in Supreme at 12's. Sweet Cherry Pie. What an amazing weekend we have had.

Without me winning a penny on either of them yet, it’s just a wonderful dream waiting to come true in March :highly_amused::highly_amused::highly_amused:

You seemed pissed off on the supreme thread ?
Dissociative Identity Disorder ?

Could even put this in the supreme thread, but....

Andy dufresne.

He's a nice horse. He did everything right and Mark said he showed loads of pace. He said you could even bring him back to two miles,” said winning trainer Gordon Elliott.

“He's in the Royal Bond, obviously I have to talk to Frank (Berry) and all the lads.

“We thought a lot of him last year, we minded him. He's still not the finished article, he's still a big weak horse.

“Mark said he showed an awful lot of pace and thought he was actually going too slow the whole way, thought he was hacking.

“I stepped him out to two-and-a-half because I thought at home he was just a bit lackadaisical, a bit sleepy. That was good and we're very happy.”
