Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

Good insight there guys - thanks for sharing

Plenty of movement on a few of Willies with PP/Betfair today. Signs aren’t good for Blackbow, pushed out to 25’s from 16’s.

One I have just cashed out after seeing that.

Is there a yard visit?

It's debatable where they get that info from. But no official yard visits/ open days or the like.
But they've always reshuffled the prices on mullins horses as a block for a few years now. With pretty outstanding results on a whole. Bar a late injury.

Have done the same COD, on both Supreme & Ballymore tickets! Can’t get a handle on this race at all this year!

Back to the drawing board tonight...

Same.

I must admit, I look at my Blackbow Supreme bets with disgust, can't believe I got dragged into the bumper horse winning a Supreme thing haha, I think the only thing keeping me from cashing them out at the time was that he was by Stowaway, the same as Champagne Fever, who was the last bumper horse to win the race and he too hailed from the Mullins yard.....ah well, we live and learn, no harm done either.

Off the top of my head...

Klassical Dream cut for Supreme, Getabird cut for the Arkle, Penhill cut for the Stayers, Laurina pushed out for the Mares & Carefully Selected pushed out for the Ballymore.

I find this a little strange that P.P. feel both Blackbow and Carefully Selected are unlikely to run here, does this mean they will run in the Bartlett or do they feel neither horse will make it to Cheltenham, if its only Blackbow they feel is not going then why not push him out in the betting for the Bartlett. Conclusion Both heading to the Bartlett? so Tornado Flyer and Come to Me heading here.

Easy Game looks his most solid option for this as it stands.

Blackbow would be far too keen for the bartlett on all known runs. I wouldn't like to guess if they make it to the festival at all or not as i know nothing.

Can you imagine the mess we'd be in if Mullins managed to pull off a festival win in one of the novice races first time out.

Or a little more realistically, he wins with a horse like Blackbow / Carefully Selected first time out at the Dublin Racing Festival. They instantly become fav for Cheltenham and we've had little to no chance of anything other than guesswork and stable vibes (and bumper form).

That has to be a real possibility this time? He's proven on more than one occasion he can ready one at home, and I know CoD agrees with me that it may become a bit more of a trend. I hope we're wrong though!

I think that is what he will try to do Kev
Run them in the Dublin racing festival,Cheltenham and punchestown
If they manage to win a big one great
If not they will have gained valuable experience and still be novices next year
He won’t want to lose their novice status in a weak race

Definitely a significant possibility in a number of races from Mullins. I’d say it’s worth watching his horses in the market closely - A lot of his will be bigger prices than they otherwise would be and as such i’d Expect the Mullins camp to be looking to land a few gambles first time up at either of the festivals....

They were carrying 7lbs more over almost an extra furlong.

Midnight Shadow ran faster carrying 6 lbs more.

True, but Midnight Shadow is now rated 158 fully extended, where as Jarveys Plate was not fully extended so a rating of close to 147 or better puts him in contention for this race.

Black bow and carefully selected haven’t been entered at Dublin
Not in the grade ones that is
