Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

"asked about champagne Platinum and I’m pleased to report that he absolutely fine and will probably have one more run before Cheltenham. We’re thinking of keeping him to two miles (and Barry tends to agree) because we’ve already got the 2m4f division covered with the likes of champ and much of it also depends on what happens with birchdale tomorrow"

Cheers Scooby. Even more so hoping Birchdale does well tomorrow then as have CP covered and put a case up for him a while back on the Supreme Thread.

You've got Champ for the Supreme CoD? Do you mean AB?

CP....Champagne Platinum.

Have Champ AB you are correct :) Only small stakes on that for now, if he goes for that though I suspect I will be going in a lot more.

Ah, apologies. I thought you were losing the plot, when it was me! :p

Birchdale from NH blog.

We were forced to miss Warwick because he wasn’t 100% but we gave him a blood test yesterday and nothing appears to be wrong so we’re good to go. The reason we are running this horse, and not Champ, is because we want to give him as much experience as possible (which Champ has plenty of) whereas Birchdale has only had two runs so could even have another run after this. This is a good test for him and the form of his win has worked out well with Clarendon Street scoring at Wetherby which obviously gives me confidence. Jarvey’s Plate was very impressive on New Year’s Day when beating one of ours in I Can’t Explain and to be honest on what I’d seen at home I expected I Can’t Explain to win but he never really looked like getting his head in front and in all fairness he wouldn’t be that far off the ability of Birchdale on their homework so it’s difficult to put Jarvey’s Plate’s win into context (as far as I am concerned) because I don’t think our horse performed to his best that day. Birchdale could be very high class, he’s got to go out and prove it now.

Backed birchdale tomorrow. 2.02/1

#birchdale wins all

What ever happens with him. I can't wait to see birchdale again. Was completely taken with his debut. He's the most exciting novice iv personally seen to date.

I'm more excited visually by him than I was with samcro. I think this lads seriously good. And he even finds off the bridle.

Birchdale wins all.

Tomorrow's the day

To win the Ballymore Trial and the Ballymore at the festival 365 have:

28/1 Birchdale
33/1 Brewin'upastorm
40/1 Jarveys Plate

I personally think a heap of these runners today could go Albert Bartlett.

Brewinupastorm, Jarveys Plate, Birchdale and even Buster Valentine all look as if 3m might be their trip. I actually think brewin’up is the one who might improve the most for the step up- he was never stronger than the last half furlong in the Challow.

JP stayed very well LTO and it depends how hot they think the Ballymore is I’d imagine before deciding whether goes there or AB?

Birchdale could go either way IMO. Hendo doesn’t look like budging on Champs trip at this stage (personally I’d be itching to see him over the 2m trip because I think he’s that slick), leaving the supreme and ab open (although champagne platinum was mentioned as their supreme horse for JP).

To summarise, I wouldn’t mind having a couple of these in an Albert Bartlett portfolio (though in recent years, it’s not been an antepost dream for punters).

Which bookie, Kev? I like the JP one. If he wins giving away 5lbs he should be into single figures.

I've thrown a few shackles on for that reason TCH. It will be a top performance of he win giving the weight away.

scroll down on the horse racing page :)

I like the JP one too, not backed just yet.

Would you say 'very weak' bobby? Been consistently around the 7/4 mark and still sub 3 on the exchanges?

Two nice Novices there; shame Brewin fell so we didn’t see what would happen up the hill. Jarveys Plate outclassed

Great to see Brewinupastorm get up... think he'd have won myself. Agree FTM, two top class horses.

Poor old Brewin'upastorm but provided he is up OK (looked a 'soft' fall), that puts him in the Ballymore picture for me.

Happy enough with Jarvey's Plate having to give 5lb, something he won't have to do in the Ballymore and he could still sneak a place IMO.
