Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

BoD

Gordon Elliott said: “He’s a nice horse and a big chaser in the making. Jack said he’s only learning and when he got to the front he didn’t know what to do. He jumped his hurdles great apart from getting underneath the last.

“He’d probably prefer a little bit more ease in the ground. He’s a chaser and a horse for down the road.

“I’ll have to talk with Michael and Eddie (O'Leary) but I don’t see why he couldn’t go to Cheltenham this year. It will be hurdling this year and chasing straight away next year.

“He’s only a baby and we don’t want to kill him but he’ll have all the entries including at the Dublin Racing Festival. We’ll see how he comes out of this first.”

I think Gordy’s quote of ‘He’s only a baby, and we don’t want to kill him’ tells me he won’t be running in the Albert Bartlett.

Thoughts on TF?

Obviously wasn't his true running or any sort of running in fact.

Undecided whether or not to cash out.

Why was Easy Game not in this? Injured?

I cashed as only backed recently at 14-1. lost half my stake but they could find something.

But I'd also cash if you get near enough full money back as can't really see why he'll shorten again before running. So you could always back again prior to his next race. Might not work out but sounds plausable to me.

I cashed out at 5% loss, waiting to hear if there is any significant injury
If he’s going to be fine I’ll back again

obviously could go shorter NRNB,
Wonder when B365 will do this as it must be tricky for them with the cash out on antepost, which I'd imagine has been more popular this season.

Just watched Gordon's interview - he's got that look that he has when he knows he has a good one. I have a nice Trixie with BOD, Le Richebourg and Buveur D'Air and I'm now most concerned about Buveur D'Air out of the three!

I mean this in the nicest way...

but both of those sentences are stupid :highly_amused:

I wanted to say that, but keep getting told off for being naughty.
Just so everyone knows, I always mean it in a nice way also.
It was the 'He's got that look' bit that got me , genius:highly_amused:

Ah! OK. I thought it was the bit about being worried about BD. Fair enough.

Ah here now Kev... let's not start name calling. I'm highly offended that I'm being called stupid - on here!

I added balance then with - genius
reckon somewhere in between is fair

:highly_amused: There will be worms all over the floor soon.

It's a very nice trixie, I very much hope it lands as I'm on all 3.

Genuinely it's BD that I worry about now. His fence flattening defeat the last day to Verdana Blue is REALLY worrying and makes me question just how good the Fighting Fifth form was. Although visually impressive, he only beat Samcro and even Sharjah did that. I really like Sharjah but he's not a Champion Hurdler for me. Then you have Laurina who I think has boundless potential and although it's well documented that she's beaten nothing, the stable know where they stand and their confidence in her worries me. I have an eachway saver on her but really fear that she might give BD a world of trouble getting 7lbs. Very happy with the other 2 - particularly after today's display by Battleoverdoyen. Hey - thanks for the good wishes. Good luck to you too.

BD is a good champion but not a great one yet, Laurina has the potential to be anything. Ground conditions will be key on the day to who wins. Of the others who might get involved - Melon , Sharjah , Bedrock & Supasindae only horses I can see troubling principles.
