August ‘25 Yankee

Elliot has a poor record in the Arkle, that's enough to put me off Romeo Coolio. I'd have KDB ahead Lulamba and actually think he's a wee bit of value at 7s.

Not Arkle related , but , just noticed that Jasmine de vaux has had a decent haircut by the bookies ,
I backed last week @ 14-1 , and into 10-1 best price now ..... Stayers Hurdle.

Its not very imaginative but kopek at 7s seems perfectly reasonable given how he won the supreme, his age and how much scope for improvement he still has.

If he takes to fences he will go off a short priced fav most likely.

Lulamba looks priced up on sir gino hype to me and hes not looked near as good as gino to me and has the 5yo hoodoo to overcome.

Romeo coolio is there at 20s and looks a chaser but hes either soft or a stayer. But hes unlikely to be running in the BANC if the yellow clay stays fit.

Clay staying over hurdles isn't he?

Yeah I don’t disagree.
Is 7/1 value ?
I guess the now removed 20f G1 option not existing means the Arkle has to be the target.
Happy to include if the team agree….

I think the most attractive markets at the moment are the Arkle, Champion Chase & BANC…

I’d nominate Kopek as great value at 7/1
Marine satisfactory at 5/1
& either The Big Westener 20/1 or Honesty Policy 25/1

I know this is the August yankee thread but is there any chance someone could step in and do the September one in place of me ? Apologies but been a shit couple of weeks and my head ain't really in the game at the moment.

definitely going chasing?
Obviously won’t be confirmed anytime soon but the negligence he had for his hurdles has to be taken into account. As does Willes ammunition for the Champion Hurdle:

Yeah good point

Suppose the owners would likely be open enough on X if someone asked.

In most yards you’d be sure but they probably haven’t even gotten a definitive answer from Willie yet. He’s probably still out at grass.

Kopek doesn’t strike me as the type to put on too much off season timber. He won’t need many runs to strip fit nor does he seem to take his racing too well.

His form tailed off from the DRF this year. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him start off in a beginners at Christmas before going the G1 route.

….its ok, Dan, I’ll open it out again and hopefully get a volunteer.

We have an opening to Captain next months effort and come up with final selections, be good if somebody volunteers?

My horses are already back in with Kingy. But probably earlier season targets.
But, as you say, still decisions to be made with some horses.
Some doubt about William munny going chasing. Don’t really fancy lulamba as a 5 year old. Irancy and Romeo coolio?
The latter appears to be going novice chasing, and I’ll always follow him. However, I just think that K

In Todays R.P....

He started in the John Durkan last year , and i suppose that's the race to start him off in this year ..

we'll make more definitive plans as we get closer to the start of the jumps Season..
Happy to have him back in , doing light work at the moment ..
He look's fantastic and we are excited to have him back ..

Going into the new season with the reigning Gold Cup Champion is a new feeling , and one that brings pressure ..
it'sa Privilege to have a horse like him in the Yard , and looking forward to the Season ahead .. "

Just seen jade de grugy has been cut into 16/1 from 33/1 for the mares chase with pp. I know a few on here are interested in her for the race.
I'd imagine thats to do with the Gav Lynch Emmett Kennedy podcast they did

Seemed shocked and that it was a price error when speaking on the market

Presume they didn't hear Willies comments post punches

….BFSB doing their ‘bet £5 on multiples, get £5’ offer this week. I think Ista plans to put the selections up soon, every little helps.
