August ‘24 Yankee

There should be an effort to not crash markets where limited bookies have it priced up.

I'd be surprised if many have accounts with those that have the market up.

I do wonder if it wasn't all plastered all over Twitter by heavily followed accounts what price he would be.

Is it all just for likes or to say who's first?

Prices are already woeful and these things make it worse.

Would never happen, there's far too many racing accounts on X, add to the fact that even if no one mentioned the horse, the prices would go purely on money concentrated on the particular horse in such a low liquidity market. I myself probably told 8-10 people to get on the horse across maybe 20 accounts, multiply that by even 5 others who are doing the same, its inevitable.

It's all part of the antepost game, the horse opened 33s and if you had your eye on him then (which if you follow FR juveniles you would have) that should have been snapped up immediately as it was just wrong.

He was then 16s for a good while before even the trainer and owner were confirmed and I'd given hints as to who that was (even though Lobos didn't get the message :boxing:)

If people don't have PP/BF accounts then thats just one of those things unfortunately, the triumph and bumper market are never going to be kind to those as people will jump on as quick as possible.

If not already on with cash out then probably best to wait until news/entry/first run and just increase your stake on him . At least you'll have a better idea at that point as well.

Lobos he will be 3/1 max after his debut

Happily eat my words if this goes pear shaped from here on in :watermelon:

Yep - he's only going one way next season as he's not a novice. So his price will only contract further based on: Mark Howard book publication, Willie stable tour, race entries, facile win at 1/8 against non-triers.

I'd say 3/1 is realistic after a debut win, even though it makes me want to vomit.

But 3/1 and a guaranteed target. He could also be 50/1 after his debut :welcoming:As I said , if he does debut successfully then just increase stake . Those already on at big prices with cash out are in a lovely position but he's not a betting proposition at current prices based on what we know which is very little at this stage.

Yepp those chain of events he could be as short as 5s across the board before he's even debuted. Sickening, but ah well :onthego:

I will eat my shoe if he's 50s after his debut lmao:cheerful:

Will probably end up in boodles off 129 and break everyone’s heart :biggrin-new:

….well that was a good shout to get this months bet on early :barbershop_quartet_member:

Willy a best 7-1 now.

Hope most got on before the big crash. Had a thought on the sept yankee. How about a one jump ahead yankee to be kept behind closed doors?

To be honest, 80% of stuff should be behind closed doors nowadays, especially stuff relating to trainers/owners/info/targets etc. That's just my opinion though

That's insane numbers...

Food for thought but i agree darlojim. If people want the yankees or stuff that members come up with they have to join. Some of the price drops are of our own making and members missing out on prices.
PS
Thats a lot of money for upkeep of the site and charity by forcing people to be members :greedy_dollars::greedy_dollars::greedy_dollars:

Apologies for my no show again. I will be back for the jumps season but for so many reasons, I have other things I need to focus on. Some good, some bad, some sad, some unexpected and some that’ll take time to get over. But I 100% will and am. And I will be back. October Yankee will be the first of the jumps season so probably then.

Pooran for top bat in the Carribean premier league at 5/1 is a max bet e/w if anyone cares though.

….its a discussion worth having.

i’ll open the September Yankee thread in the open area as usual and FJs can express their views on whether we want to put them in the members section, especially as we get into the season in the next month or so.

Gents, most of the ‘visitors’’ are Russian machines so I wouldn’t worry about the numbers too much, there are times this place gets 10,000 visitors.
That doesn’t change the discussion, I don’t disagree pushing some discussion to members has merit but this was debated a few years ago and Kevloaf was comfortable with what we did, I’m sure he’ll appear soon so can re-visit…

Alas I was racing at Navan yesterday and didn't check in here, which I tend to do daily, so missed this. It's now 7/1 on BF/PP but the other 3 prices have held.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a monthly Lucky 15 until at least the end of the money and here, we tend to not publish them until once the new month has started. Would it be possible in the future not to publish it until the month's end?

Happy to volunteer myself to do the September one, if no one else comes forward.
