August ‘23 Yankee

Anyone got the Triumph nailed yet ?
I seem to remember Lossiemouth, Vauban and Quilixios were mentioned by this time.
Kotkijet has been instrumental in this division, hopefully he’ll be back soon with a nugget of two….

Mostly get going in late September when the Howard and other books come out.

Forget about the Triumph until the French flat season has been going long enough to turn up some horses with good enough form to be bought and moved over to GB and IRE.

Allied to the French hurdles purchases.

Understood SW, but FJ has nailed the race long before Sept/Oct in recent years…

Surely Captain Teague for Ballymore has to be in the mix, course form already in the mix and with Nicholls it's likely to be the target. For a very early dart, can't go wrong.

….I’ve mentioned him too but where has Nicholls said Ballymore is likely to be the target?

The only quote I saw was ‘the last one I had placed in the CB was Al Ferof. Captain Teague will be one of our better horses next season’.

Al Ferof was 2nd to Cue Card & went on to win the following years Supreme. ComplyOrDie suggested the Supreme shouldn’t be discounted for CT on breeding. The betting suggests Ballymore as most likely but it would help our discussion if Nicholls has mentioned a target.

I've seen no specific mention of target, I'm just going off the last couple of seasons where he's had regular ballymore runners and not focused on the Supreme

Also worth considering that Nicholls has another couple of good ones; Inthewaterside and Wrappedupinmay. One I particularly like is Inthewaterside. But again, hard to know where he ends up. Out of a Denham Red mare so might prefer a shorter trip at this point.

I'd like to put forward Inthepocket for the Turners, not heard that he will go chasing but surely not good enough over Hurdles to win big races

7 year olds seem to do well in this and De Bromhead knows how to win it (albeit fortuitously)!!

There are lots above him in the current betting that surely won't run here, IEP seems to be staying over hurdles if the rumours on here are correct, Con Hill, surely not, Gaelic Warrior, Stayers ? Corbetts Cross, now heading the betting in the BANC, Blazing Khal, Meh, Facile Vega ??

So..... I like that one ^^^

Supreme - Gaucher
Ballymore - Captain Teague
Turners - InThePocket

.... +1

Although I have Gaucher as a horse of real interest for next season, he'd be behind Mirazur West in terms of Yankee material.

Probably got another month or two before Gaucher is found.... if that. Just want to cover him. Not going to cry if Mirazur gets the group nod but I may switch one out as already have him.

.... or do one with each. Lol.

Mystical Power anyone ? Looked very good tonight at Galway. Not sure what he beat but he was impressive. Should be considered now.

Hugely impressive

Halved in price after todays win. 33/1 to16/1. Reckon he will be Joint Fav after he wins the Royal Bond. Just saying. I'm in at 16/1.

Some of these jp McManus horses are going to have to go to the ballymore.

Not usually afraid to have more than one in a race is he

No but when he has -
a dream to share
mirazur west
mystical power
down memory lane

They won’t all run in the supreme.

Down Memory Lane looks a Ballymore type to me. Wouldn’t interest me at this point in the Supreme. The other three I’d be open on for either race.

Three different trainers as well. They won't be stepping up in trip purely to avoid other JP runners like. That's not to say none of them will step up in trip though. There's every chance some face each other before the festival, which could change things.

Mirazur West the only one of them that particularly interests me as a Supreme bet at the moment anyway though.

….turn into Aug today & I’m getting quite strong vibes for;

Mirazur West (Sup)
Champ Kiely (NHC)
InthePocket (Turn)

Hopefully MoM dials in soon.
