….nothing being considered for Arkle, NHC & Turners JackieMoon33 ?

Arkle and Turners don’t tend to have the price level I require (12/1+). NHC I have a poor record in so have learnt to avoid it.

Any opinions on where Corbetts Cross will end up?

…many thanks for posting the list, Jackie. I know I picked up a few of those from your diary.

Irish point in the turners looks a good shout, with alot of uncertainty there aswell hes a nice enough price

although from robocur does anyone have any updates on saint felicien? If he was to go chasing that could be interesting

….Inthepocket got a few mentions for the Turners in the July thread, any strong thoughts on him?

Irish Point nominated here and Good Land has to be considered despite being in the July bet.

Turners might have some value given expectations re IEP.

I liked the Saint last season for the Turners and I was told he’d be running. That never materialised so I’d be worried as to the reason why.

....also, KINBARA in the AB at 50-1 deserves consideration based on his latest rpr.

Full case in diary.

Do we know if Irish point is going chasing? I’ve not seen any quotes as yet

I havent seen anything to be fair, but why would you keep the horse over hurdles if he was running over the intermediate trip most of the season

also i dont think much of his breeding in regards to being a graded chaser

Upped in trip for a stayers hurdle campaign if they decide to go chasing with teahupoo?

After Aintree Elliott said of Irish Point "He’s a nice chasing prospect but he could stay jumping hurdles too, he likes soft ground and there’s a lot of prize money to be won with him so we’re happy with him".

So there's a bit of risk there unless anyone has news on decisions since.

I also thought I'd read Elliott saying he might go 3m with Irish Point but can't find the quote now so may have imagined it...

Looking back over one of WPM early stable tour with SL His 5 FR horses to follow were Lossiemouth, IEP, Soir De Garde, Spanish Harlem, Quais De Paris & Fancy Girl.

The piece reads very bullish on all these 5. The first 2 sailed home at Cheltenham, 3rd didn’t appear last season, then QDP and SH were mentioned quite well in the highlight as future chasing prospects.. rather than hurdlers. They sure didn’t hit the level hurdling but over fences they could be big darts for the yard and slightly forgotten about.

Wont get involved on a whim yet but they may form part of the bingo for Mullins novice chaser.

Do you think any slim chance he could go down the NHC route? I also hope he goes BANC route and have backed accordingly

For me, no. I’m a huge fan of his and backed him for the BANC before this years AB. But, on reflection, I think he may be better suited to the Turners. He has a high cruising speed and didn’t appear to be seeing out the AB very well when he veered off course. Appreciate he appeared to stay very well earlier in the season, but that was against handicappers and his class may well have seen him through.

I thought he was coming to win the AB but haven't watched it back for a while. I need to do that as you've got me worried.

At this stage I think that Iroko will run in the Turners and CC in the Brown Advisory but it wouldn't shock me if it was the other way round

You've also got to factor in FTF (potentially).

In terms of CC, it's quite hard to disaggregate the error (or moments leading up to the error) from how he was going generally, but I got the impression he was going very comfortably in an ominous position and then didn't really pick up when others around him began their run for home. Then he made his error. I could be wrong and he might've been being held on to for a late charge, but that's how I read it. Still, the AB tends not to suit classier horses so it wouldn't put me off him for the RSA entirely. But that coupled with how well he performed over 2 miles made me think the mid-trip might be perfect.

Watch it back and let me know what you think.

He's one I'm waiting on news of too. Stable tour will likely be the first time we get any info on him. I'm hoping they send him chasing.

Iroko is interesting as he got outpaced and seemed to need every yard to win the MP. So I'd be thinking more BANC than Turners.
